Harry Potter Moment #196

Harry Potter Moment of the Week
Harry Potter Moment of the Week was created by Leah @ Uncorked Thoughts  and is hosted here @ Lunar Rainbows Reviews. The idea is to share a favorite moment, magical item, character, spell, quote or memory  from the books, films or J.K.Rowling herself!  How to join up &  upcoming topics here.

Hello Potterheads and happy Wizard Thursday!  I hope everyone's week is going brilliantly and that a little magic today is just what the Doctor ordered:

You can have lunch with 3 people involved with the movies, Who are they and why?

Dude...only 3?! This is going to be a tough one but I'm going to try to make it work without cheating - like always - let's see...

Emma Watson - Bringing Hermione Granger to life was quite the feat but Miss Watson came through with flying colours! I'm not going to pretend that I wasn't a little annoyed when movie-Hermione got some of Harry or Ron's lines/moments instead but that doesn't take anything away from Emma Watson and the amazing woman that she is. I have so much respect and admiration for her as a person it would be a dream come true to meet her!

Richard Harris - MY Dumbledore, through and through.  I adore Richard Harris' take on Albus Dumbledore more than anything, but I've loved that man in every movie I've seen him in from Gladiator to The Count of Monte Cristo and everything in between. R.I.P. Richard Harris.

Gary Oldman - Sirius Black AND Commissioner Gordon? That's 2 of my top 3 fandoms of life so there is no list without this man.  I mean, sure he's been in a million amazing movies besides that but....SIRIUS BLACK AND COMMISSIONER GORDON. That is all ♥

Bonus:

Daniel Radcliffe

Of course I *had* to cheat because I had to include the boy who brought ''The Boy Who Lived'' to life.  He wasn't the Harry Potter I imagined in my head when reading the books but that person doesn't exist irl. Daniel Radcliffe did a phenomenal job bringing Harry Potter from page to film and I have tons of respect for him as an actor and a human being.

Those are my top picks but that list could also include Dame Maggie Smith, Tom Felton, Evanna Lynch, Alan Rickman, David Thewlis and James + Oliver Phelps. See I knew I was going to have to cheat. As usual.

Which people involved in the films would you like to have lunch with?

  1. WOW three is hard to limit it to! I want to have lunch with all of them!? I love your picks - Gary Oldman would be fantastic to meet. I have the biggest friend crush on Daniel Radcliffe, and I have always thought he seems like such a great guy and very down to earth. But then Alan Rickman, Maggie Smith, Tom Felt, James & Oliver, Jason Isaacs.... man, that's a hard one. Great choices! :D

  4. Oh this is a tough question! Emma Watson would deff be on my list too. She was the perfect Hermione and I love her as a human being. Plus she was also Belle who is my FAVORITE EVER!

  5. I totally agree on Gary Oldman! I think I first saw him as Commissioner Gordon and I've loved him ever since. I recently saw him in The Space Between Us, and I absolutely loved his role. <3
This is a tough choice. I'd probably pick Alan Rickman, because I've loved many of his roles, and then someone from the screenwriting department, too. I'd want to pick their brains about how they chose to adapt and discuss why they chose to leave out the bits they did, etc. Because I'm a super writing nerd like that. XD

  6. They should really just do a big Hogwarts themed feast with ALL the cast members. Meet EVERYONE!!

  7. Hard question! Totally agree with Emma Watson. David Tennant would have to be there too 😍. My third choice would have to be Maggie Smith, Helena Bonham Carter or Kelly Macdonald (all such great actresses). I just can't narrow it down.

  8. It's soooo hard not to pick everyone involved with the movies! XD I was beyond thrilled when I heard that Gary Oldman had been cast as Sirius; he's stellar in every film he does! And of course Richard Harris will always be my Dumbledore, too! ♥

  9. I agree with Emma Watson. And Gary Oldman. Could we pick people who have passed away? I would have loved to have met Alan Rickman. Or the queen herself: JK Rowling.

  10. I went Emma Watson as well on this one. I would adore meeting her. I went a different way with the other two, but I love your picks as well. I agree on Richard Harris as THE Dumbledore and frankly I would've been surprised if Oldman didn't make the cut LOL. I love his characters as well.
