Harry Potter Moment #176

Harry Potter Moment of the Week
Harry Potter Moment of the Week was created by Leah @ Uncorked Thoughts  and is hosted here @ Lunar Rainbows Reviews. The idea is to share a favorite moment, magical item, character, spell, quote or memory  from the books, films or J.K.Rowling herself!  How to join up &  upcoming topics here.

Hi Potterheads!  I hope your week is going along swimmingly so far? January is the start of my busy season at work but other than that, things have been fairly quiet on my end. If any of us are looking for excitement though, here's the perfect opportunity:

Would you have put your name in the Goblet of Fire?

Nope! To hell with eternal glory.  Even though I'm a Gryffindor, I'm not really all that competitive and that contest was some serious stuff. I'd much rather watch from the sidelines and focus on my classes...not...you know...staying alive.  Besides, if I'm in Hogwarts at the same time as Harry (and since we're both born on the same year I'm going to assume that I AM ) *ahem* then I'd need to dedicate myself to helping him survive!

What about you?

  1. I chose the same way! Sidelines for me while I cheer on the Hogwarts champ, and like you said try and help them survive! I just really don't go looking for the spotlight so that would've been intense.

  2. I feel like I might put my name in... though probably wouldnt get chosen haha... I have a competitive streak in me so I dont think I would be able to resist.

  3. I agree with you! I had almost the same answer, except I'm a Ravenclaw :)

  4. I don't know since I haven't read past the first book, but I'll say... no. Your reasons sound good. :) But maybe I'll change my mind after I find out what it does?? For now I'll just help from the sidelines though... that sounds good. After all Harry must survive!!

  5. Eternal glory is highly overrated, LOL! This is totally a spectator-only event for me, and I'd be completely content cheering on Harry or any other Hogwarts champion!

  6. Oh hell no!! haha. It really is remarkable the dangerous tasks they put those young people through. And I've always been okay with being a spectator in life honestly...
