Movie Freebie: Top Ten Twenty Favorite Movies of All-Time

The Count of Monte Cristo - This might just be my all-time favorite movie. I could watch it again and again and never get bored. What is it about a good revenge story that is so satisfying?

Gladiator - I love ancient Rome and I love Russell Crowe.  The story of Gladiator is one of the most engrossing and moving stories I've ever known. Also? Revenge!

The Prestige - Magicians. Illusionists with more secrets, lies and deception in their real lives than in their acts! This movie blew me away the first time I saw it and I thought about it for weeks afterwards.

The Dark Knight Trilogy - Batman has been my favorite superhero since I was a kid but I'd always been underwhelmed by his big screen adventures. Until this trilogy came around. I'm forever grateful to Director Christopher Nolan for these masterful stories.

A Good Year - This is a feel good story that revolves around a selfish, urban capitalist that finds himself again after he returns to his uncle's house in Southern France where he spent his Summers as a kid.

Stranger Than Fiction - A story about a book character come to life? What's not to love?  Even people who aren't a fan of Will Ferrell should check out this story ♥

The Hunger Games - My favorite book-to-movie adaption.  Take note movie studios, THIS is how it's done.  No huge, upsetting changes and phenomenal casting!

Zoolander - Comedies can be hit or miss for me, generally because I don't share the majority of people's sense of humor. My sense of humor is weird, random and unpredictable. I adore Zoolander though and to this day it still makes me laugh out loud!

Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby - While most people seem to prefer Anchorman (which I also love), Talladega Nights is my favorite of the two. I know they're similar in some respects but something about this story just cracks me up.

J.F.K. - I love the controversy here and I love the shock value but mostly, I love the conspiracy theory that comes with Stone's take on this American tragedy.

3:10 to Yuma - My all-time favorite western. Granted, I adore Bale and Crowe but I think the story is one that measure up beyond those two gifted actors.

Star Trek - I was never a Trekkie, mainly because my mom used to hate the old television series so I never got acquainted to it...BUT...this movie made me want to change all of that. Live long and prosper!

The Lord of the Rings - Another stellar book-to-movie adaptation. I got into these movies even before I read the Harry Potter books so I credit them with getting me really into high-fantasy!

The Hobbit - This series  might not be as epic as LotR but I still love it. I adore Martin Freeman, I think Bilbo is much more compelling than Frodo ever was and there's a badass dragon. WIN.

Titanic - I might not be big on romance but this movie was a defining moment for my generation. I went to see this SIX TIMES at the theaters and I'm not even sorry.  Oh and I may have a life-long crush on Mr. DiCaprio #notgonnalie

Inception - What can I say? I love Christopher Nolan. This movie was a mind-fuck like only he can deliver.  Dreams have always fascinated me and being able to navigate and manipulate dreams is trippy!

Fight Club - I love this movie for the controversy and social commentary.  I love Pitt and Norton's performances as well. If ever I feel frustrated or want to kick some ass, this is the movie I watch LOL!

The Sixth Sense - I remember being so utterly blown away by this movie the first time I saw it. I never even used to watch thrillers and scary movies, but I just loved this! It could even be responsible for my love affair with Supernatural!

Mad Max: Fury Road - The boyfriend was a fan of the original Mad Max movies so before seeing this new instalment, we rewatched the original trilogy which was fun. Needless to say, we were both blown away by this^^ Charlize Theron was a revelation! Also? Tom.Fucking.Hardy.

The Notebook - The second and last romance on my list. I've seen The Notebook a bunch of times and it always fills my heart and makes me cry.  I adore this story! Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams are perfect.

What are your thoughts on my favorite movies? Do we have similar tastes?
What are some of your favorite movies?

  7. I don't watch movies much anymore, but a lot of the ones at the end of your list are old favorites. Both Titanic and The Sixth Sense could easily make my favorites list. (I totally remember Mad Max: Beyond Thunderdome. Super cheesy, but I LOVED it!)
