Harry Potter Moment #163

Harry Potter Moment of the Week

Harry Potter Moment of the Week is a  meme created by Leah @ Uncorked Thoughts  and hosted here @ Lunar Rainbows Reviews. The idea is to share a favorite moment, magical item, character, spell, quote, object from the books, films or J.K.Rowling herself!  How to join up &  upcoming topics here.

Hello Potterheads! We're recommending books to Harry Potter characters again and you all know I loooove these topics so let's jump right in:

Which Books Would You Recommend to Ginny?

The Hunger Games - I think that someone as fiery as Ginny would love THE Girl of Fire. Plus reading about Panem should make her feel better about dealing with Voldemort.

Throne of Glass - If anyone would fangirl over Celaena as much as I do, it'd be Ginny. Celaena doesn't take any shit and neither does Ginny.

The Old Kingdom - I got some of the same feels reading this series as with HP so I can only assume Ginny would get it too and feel the same way.

Mistborn - I feel like Ginny would relate to Vin quite a bit - it's not every girl that has to deal with an immortal dark lord right? These two would have a lot to talk about!

Charley Davidson -  Ginny has a lot of the twin's humor and mischief, so I just know she'd get a real kick out of Charley. The series would make her laugh and keep her interest for sure :)

What books would you recommend to Ginny?

  1. These look like solid picks! You got me kinda wanting to read Garth Nix since I never have, and The Hunger Games *nods*. I don't really know Ginny since I haven't read much HP but I'm sure she's like all these. :)

    1. Kind of?! Oh dude, you MUST read Nix!! I only read him last year for the first time but he's now one of my all-time favorite authors ♥ And Hunger Games ALWAYS! Oh and read HP Greg! That and Nix LOL!

  2. Like Greg, you've got me wanting to read The First Grave on the Right series. I've been wanting to read that for a long time. I might opt for that series for my next back-to-back blow through. If Ginny would like it, so would I!

    1. YES. SHE. WOULD. The girl-power is STRONG in ToG so Ginny would be ALL OVER it :D

  4. Man- I think Ginny and Katniss would have made the best allies (so, yes, I think she would have loved The Hunger Games). I also love the Charley Davidson series, so I think everyone would love it (or needs to at least).

  5. Gah! I can't believe I forgot Sabriel! Ginny would LOVE both the book and Sabriel as a character! Ginny and Celaena/Aelin definitely do have fierceness in common, and I think they'd get along famously! :D

    1. I'm biased now though because I think everyone needs to love Sabriel ♥ AND her story, her world...all of it! And that's exactly what I thought about Ginny/Aelin :D

  6. I agree, Ginny would probably love The Hunger Games and Throne of Glass!!! I can just see her hanging out with Katniss and Aelin. I'm not sure what else I would suggest, I think you've done a great job here for recommendations for her.

  7. I think I would have a hard time recommending books to Ginny only because I felt like I never really got to know her well in the series! I've read the series COUNTLESS times and am the biggest Harry Potter fan, but when people talk about Ginny I just don't get what they got out of reading the books! To me she always seemed so quiet, and I never quite understood how she ended up with someone like Harry! Don't get me wrong, I liked Ginny but I wish I loved her as much as everyone else did!
That being said, I love your suggestions but I wish I could relate and say I think she would enjoy them but I would be at a loss if someone asked me this question!

    1. Aw, that's too bad Emily^^ Ginny's one of my favorite characters so I guess I can't really relate here but I've had similiar experiences with other well-loved characters that I just didn't connect with.
