Fandom Mashups #75

Fandom Mashups
Fandom Mashups is an original feature here at Lunar Rainbows Reviews.  Every week, I propose a unique fictional scenario and then we build our own personal dream team of five fictional characters from five different fandoms to complete the task!  Anyone is welcome to join up - all I ask is that you link back to me somewhere in your post :)

Hi everyone and happy Sunday funday! Or maybe it isn't really a 'fun day' today since it looks like we've run into a fair bit of trouble here. Eeeek!

You've been framed and sent to a notoriously harsh prison for a crime you didn't commit. You manage to escape! Who's going to help you plot your revenge on those who framed you?

Edmond Dantès

This scenario was inspired by poor Edmond who rocks the revenge plot like no one else. Really though, look at him strut LIKE A BOSS after the hell he went through. The Count of Monte Cristo will show me the way!

Celaena Sardothien

Celaena was thrown into the salt mines, beaten and tortured but she sure got her vengeance. Needless to say, her cunning and ruthlessness would come in handy in this scenario! Teach me your ways oh fire-breathing bitch-queen!

Sirius Black

Poor Sirius fits the bill perfectly but he never fully got his revenge...or at least, he wasn't around to enjoy any of it *sobs*  So I'd like to put him on my team and give him the chance to make things right.

Kaladin Stormblessed (Stormlight Archive)

Kaladin was stripped of all his titles and honor to be made a slave. He then slowly and painstakingly lifted himself up within the ranks and earned his honor right back. The hard way. He then faced those who wronged him and showed that what's what. YEAH!

Cress (Lunar Chronicles)

Granted she's not really the revenge type but Crescent Moon was wrongfully imprisoned and kept against her will. Through it all she's shown herself to be crafty AF when it comes to working her computer skills so she'd be dead useful.

  1. OMG, we've got 3 out of 5 in common again this week, LOL! Edmond, Celaena, and Sirius were some of the first names that popped into my head when I saw "revenge" mentioned in this week's topic. I thought the EXACT same thing about our poor Sirius—here would be his chance to clear his name at last.

    1. We are always so in-sync! Book besties for life ♥ Same here^^ I instantly thought of those three! Now that I think on it though, we could have gone with Zuko too - his quest for HONOR was kind of like a quest for revenge XD Oh and giving Sirius THE chance to clear his name? Be still my heart!!

  2. The Count of Monte Cristo! Awesome. Great choice. Celaena too- I like that she sounds ruthless. Don't screw with her! Revenge is so fun to read about isn't it? lol

  3. I just love Cress :D What a great addition here! I only heard mention of the Count on Once Upon a Time a few weeks ago so that's one that I'm not familiar with though they did bring up his backstory and that he was set for revenge. I would absolutely want Celaena on this one! I'm not sure who else I'd go with for this topic. This is a great group :D

    1. I do too Jaclyn^^ I wanted another female apart from Aelin and thought Cress would fit in nicely! Oh you should really watch The Count of Monte Cristo film that came out in 2002 - it's EXCELLENT!

  4. I definitely think we totally underestimate Cress in that series! She's so clever! And yes all the sobs for Sirius because he's still hands down one of my favorite characters from the series. And just think though he kind of gets to see the revenge unfold when Harry goes to face Voldemort in the last book and thinks he is going to die (in the Forbidden Forest all Harry's family/friends show up to help him). Although I'm not sure if that was just a figment of Harry's memories/imagination or if they were actually there in spirit form.

    1. Agreed^^ she's brilliant but tends to be overlooked. Agreed: I adore Sirius ♥ I just wish he could have settled his score with Pettigrew and cleared his name before he dies. I like to believe that it was truly his spirit that Harry saw :)

  6. Edmund Dantes totally belongs at the top of this list. *love* Who better to plot revenge?
The rest of your picks are fantastic, too, though now I have to go wander off in a corner to cry about Sirius. Funny, I never really thought about his fight in terms of revenge or justice and his not getting it... now that's all I can think about... *sob*

This blog is an award-free zone. I appreciate the thought but I can't invest the time needed.
