Top Ten Tuesday #51

Top Ten Tuesday

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish which features a variety of bookish top ten lists!

Top Ten ALL TIME Favorite Books
*I almost went with Favorite SFF books but ended up with one historical and one UF...*
(I've counted some series as one book but the images shown are my favorite instalment in each series)

Anne of Green Gables - My very first fictional obsession. I read all seven books and then watched the television series - both of which I've revisited throughout the years. Anne will always have a special place in my heart.

The Fever Series - This series started me reading the Urban Fantasy genre and even though we got off to a bit of a rocky start, I knew the series was supposed to get better with every instalment...and it  SO did.

The Hobbit/Lord of the Rings - How could I not include this classic fantasy adventure?  While it took me awhile to get used to Tolkien's style, it wasn't long before I was swept away completely by Middle-Earth.

Mistborn - Say hello to my very first adult epic fantasy, kick ass heroine included. The first book is my favorite of the bunch but this series is solid start to finish - and still blowing me away after 7 books - can't beat that!

The Hunger Games - Lots of firsts this week, this was my very first dystopian read and nothing has ever come close to comparing to the awesomeness that is Katniss Everdeen. This trilogy destroyed me but my love for it is undying.

The Raven Cycle - I'll never get over The Raven Cycle because this series is LIFE. It is perfection. It.Is.EVERYTHING.  My love for the boys and for Blue runs deep and true and nothing can lessen it. Stiefvater announcing a Ronan-centered trilogy nearly killed me.

Throne of Glass - My beloved Fire-Breathing Bitch-Queen had to make the list right. Never has a sassy, cocky blonde bombshell assassin been more of EVERYTHING I needed in a heroine. *bows down before the Queen*

The Old Kingdom - Being late to the party didn't stop me from being overcome by a love so fierce that I haven't shut up about it since.  Sabriel is PERFECTION. I adore her. Her story lives in my very blood. The Old Kingdom calls to me - and so does Lirael!

The Stormlight Archive - Where Mistborn ignited my love of adult epic-fantasy, The Way of Kings burned the world down for me.  This series is my favorite adult fantasy of life. I've been consumed with no hope of ever being freed. Kaladin is the best thing.

Harry Potter - Do I need to say it? Life-altering series right here^^  The Wizarding World changed me and that's not even slightly an exaggeration. I am a better person for having read, lived and loved Harry Potter. I adore this series with all of my heart and soul. ♥

  1. I will never get over the Raven Cycle either! I can't get enough of these characters. And I just started working at Fountain Bookstore here in Richmond, VA, where Maggie does her special doodle copies books just for us!

  5. Wow, great list! I need to read Sanderson and I think I'll start with Way of Kings. That seems like the one most geared towards what I read. Yay for LotR of course, and Throne of Glass has made its way on my list too. She seems to crank out these books that are huge and everyone love them, I wish George RR Martin could pull that off (the getting the books out part ha ha).

  7. The Raven Cycle, Throne of Glass, and Harry Potter own forever places in my heart! I had a similar start with Fever, but I'm so glad that I kept going with the series because by the end, I was totally blown away by it! Having read Sabriel now, I've got a feeling that the Old Kingdom will soon be an all-time favorite series as well!

  8. The Fever series! Have you read her spinoff to that one? And yes to Brandon Sanderson. The Way of Kings is my absolute favorite book by him!

  11. Love your list! I am a big fan of Sanderson's books! Mistborn and the Stormlight Archive are just awesome! And Kaladin is my fictional crush ;-)
And of course, you can't miss Harry Potter :) I liked Sabriel and the Hunger Games as well - not a big fan of Sarah J. Maas though

  12. Oh my goodness, I don't know if I could even DO this list. I know without a doubt that Harry Potter and Throne of Glass would be there. I would have to have Hunger Games as well. It was my first dystopian too and I agree that none have matched it :D While I absolutely adore Lord of the Rings and Hobbit, I would have to say I'm a bigger fan of those films. I love The Fever Series and I think that was an excellent addition to this list. I would absolutely have to have The Hollows Series by Kim Harrison. I was enamored with Urban Fantasy after that one. I may would include The Lunar Chronicles, The Lux Series, Daughter of Smoke & Bone, Mercy Thompson, The Sweet Trilogy, and White Rabbit Chronicles.
