Favorite Ginny Moment

You all know that I adore book Ginny, in fact, I wrote a post in defense of her for last year's Harry Potter Month.  So it goes without saying that girlfriend has a lot of moments under her belt that could count as favorites of mine.  I love how cute she is when we first meet her, I love her hopeless crush on Harry - because that SO would have been me. I love how she overcomes the awful Tom Riddle possession in her very first year at Hogwarts (can you imagine?!?) I love that she plays Quidditch and plays the field with boys. I love how she's the perfect Weasley: as caring as her parents, as mischievous as her twin brothers and as stubborn as Ron. I love how feisty she is - and how powerful she is. I LOVE that when Harry FINALLY notices how AWESOME she is and falls in love with her, he does so almost without realizing it. It's because of how effortless their ship falls into place and blooms that makes them my favorite ship of the series.  So yes, I have a lot to gush about when it comes to Ginny, but I think my favorite moment is:

When she sets Harry straight in OotP

When Harry thinks he's being possessed by Voldemort, he goes rogue and starts isolating himself a lot more. He blames himself for what happened to Mr. Weasley and it sets him on a downward spiral. Neither Ron, or Hermione, or Sirius and especially not Dumbledore could do anything to help him at the time. But Ginny shook him out of it. She basically sasses him into remembering that she has been possessed by Voldemort and that he should have checked with her before pouting. She reached Harry when no one else could.

  1. She has so many of the best Weasley qualities of all combined into one person! I loved that part a lot. He was so sulky and felt like he didn't deserve to be around anyone and she's like "HEY stop being an idiot". Those aren't her exact words but basically because she was able to move on so well and didn't talk about it everyday, it seemed everyone forgot she went through the possession. She was 100% right, he should have gone to her. I'm glad she was able to get through to him.

    1. She truly does! Yeah, he was just so miserable and shut out from everyone....no one could read him. And then Ginny walks in and shakes him out of it! And I mean, considering what she went through, it could have REALLY messed her up but it's like you said: she picked herself up and moved past it. She's amazing ♥

    1. Agreed! It makes me sad that a lot of people don't get how amazing she is.

  3. I ADORE that moment! ^_^ I especially love how much she's being compared to Fred and George throughout OotP; she really is the best o the Weasleys combined.
I think Jaclyn has a point too; Ginny does seemed to have moved on well from being possessed in CoS, because not even Harry remembered when he was going through his funk!

    1. YES! She really is the best of all the Weasleys put together! And I agree: she really put the whole nightmare behind her and went on like a trooper!

  4. OMG, that is such a great Ginny moment! Harry needed a bit of a jolt to get him out of his mood, and man, did Ginny give it to him, lol! I forgot all about this one, which further reminds me how much I need to do a reread!

  5. What a great pick! I absolutely love this scene! Ginny confronts Harry (which Ron and Hermione were too guilty to do) and then helps ease his mind by showing him that he hasn't been possessed. I like how you said she basically sasses him into remembering that he's not alone. Man, they are so perfect for each other!
