Top Ten Tuesday #45

Top Ten Tuesday

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish which features a variety of bookish top ten lists!

Top Ten Most Anticipated Releases For The Second Half Of 2016

Goldenhand - This is a new favorite series of mine by Garth Nix and while part of me wants to kick myself for waiting so long to get acquainted with such a phenomenal fantasy series, the other part of me is glad that I didn't have to wait over to years for the next installment.

Empire of Storms - When there is a Sarah J. Maas book coming out, you will find me waiting on it with baited breath. I need EoS like air and since it's the penultimate book in the series, I'm equal parts excited and terrified.

Gemina - Illuminae rocked my world and since then I have been dying to get my hands on the sequel. I have no clue how the authors plan on living up to the first book but so far the early buzz has been explosive!

Strange the Dreamer - Laini fucking Taylor. Hell yeah I need her new release. I have missed swimming in her glorious prose and I have no doubt that whatever she has in store for us will be worth the wait!

Heartless - Whatever Marissa Meyer come out with has my full attention. In this case? She's taking on Alice in Wonderland. YES PLEASE.

This Savage Song - So many amazing authors have been very busy of late but you don't hear me complaining. Schwab won me over a long time ago and I vowed to gobble up whatever she comes up with ever since. She hasn't led me wrong so far!

The Girl Who Drank the Moon - Beyond that absolutely stunning cover, there's the promise of moon magic, tiny dragons and the bittersweet story of a special and power girl. Give us the precious!

The Throne of Glass Colouring Book - A recent WoW pick of mine, what's most exciting to me here is that we finally have official means to see the world of Throne of Glass for the first time and I want to explore ALL OF IT.

Kingdom of Ash and Briar - A fairytale retelling that mashes up lots of different classics with a shape-shifting main character. What more could anyone ask for?

Harry Potter and the Cursed Child - It's about Harry Potter. Need I say more?

Are you anticipating any all of these?
Please, gush with me :D

  5. Gemina (nods head vigorously) and is some of the cover art killing it this year or what? I mean dang Empire of Storms, Strange the dreamer. So nice. I may read the Maas books once they're out and binge 'em. Unlike a certain author who shall not be named cough GRRM cough she actually seems to get her books out! lol

  6. Definitely Laini Taylor's new book. I got the sample from a friend who went to BEA (yay!) but I haven't opened it yet because I dread what's inside. Either it's wonderful and I'll have to wait for MONTHS to read the rest or it's not as good as Daughter of Smoke and Bone and I'll be really bummed about it. Bookworm problems, huh? :)

And yeah, despite the fact that I didn't love Queen of Shadows as much as Heir of Fire, I'm still going to read Empire of Storms. It's bound to be action-packed and I miss Manon and her crew. :)

  8. Empire of Storms and Heartless were both on my list too. Thanks to my not updating my Goodreads recently and using that to make my list, The Cursed Child wasn't on my list, but I am really excited for it!

  12. I probably don't read as much YA as I want to, but the ones I'm really looking forward too are probably all represented in your list this week! Totally excited for Gemina! And despite the ups and downs of the Throne of Glass series, I'm definitely looking forward to the next book. I'm also really curious what Laini Taylor's new book will be like!
