Top Ten Tuesday #38

Top Ten Tuesday

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish which features a variety of bookish top ten lists!

Hi everyone! After a month's hiatus from TTT posts, I'm back just in time for this awesome topic:

Ten Books on my Spring TBR

A Gathering of Shadows -
This baby was a pre-order of mine so you can be sure I'll be reading it veeerrry soon! I need more Kell, Rhy and Lila in my life.

Stars Above - Another pre-order, and one that I would have read already if not for the fact that I DON'T WANT IT TO BE OVER *sobs*

Once Was a Time - I was lucky enough to be offered an ARC of this one: a MG read featuring Time-Travel? Yes please!

Clariel - It's no secret that The Old Kingdom books became all-time favorites of mine when I read them for the first time last year so I'm eager to read Clariel, set hundreds of years before the original trilogy!

Firefight - Now that I've finally gotten my hands on the sequel to Steelheart, it won't be long until I jump right in - you know me and Sanderson ;)

Fifth Grave Past the Light - In keeping with my goal to finish off series', I have too much love for Charley Davidson and I need my fix - bring on Fifth Grave!

Every Word - As much as I adored Every Breath, and pre-ordered the sequel here AGES before it released, I have yet to read it. I will be fixing this soon.

The Girl Who Soared Over Fairyland and Cut the Moon in Two - Another series begun far too long ago and not completed. I own books 3 & 4 and with the final book coming out this year, I know I need to catch up!

Angelfall - After buying a copy years ago because of all the crazy praise, this pretty has been sitting on my shelf collecting dust. NO MORE.

Guile - Yet another ARC I was fortunate enough to receive recently, and one featuring a talking, magical cat no less! Must.Read.Soon.

*I would have included The Bands of Mourning by Brandon Sanderson, but I jumped into that one as soon as it arrived in my mailbox so it never actually had the time to be considered a tbr for Spring ;)

  1. Great list, Micheline! I didn't really think Angelfall was anything particularly special when I read it, I ended up not continuing with the series, but I hope you like it much more than I did! I still haven't read Stars Above yet either for the same reason as you, and Clariel's another book I need to get to soon. So much to read, so little time!

  2. I'm not familiar with many of the books on your list. I'll have to check them out. I do love Charley Davidson. My list would include: Divine Descendant by Jenna Black, Bright Blaze of Magic by Jennifer Estep and Shadowed Blade by J.C. Daniels.

  4. Hehe I also have Clariel on my TBR list this week. I'm still re-reading Abhorsen at the moment but will definitely start Clariel afterwards. I also have Brandon Sanderson's Steelheart waiting on my TBR pile as well waiting to be read but I dunno when I'll get around to it. Great list, happy reading Micheline! :)

  5. Stars Above is on my TBR as well! I can't wait to read it but like you I don't want stories in that world to be over. I love the Old Kingdom trilogy and Clariel doesn't disappoint in my opinion, it's great to see what the world is like before Sabriel's time :)
    My Top Ten Tuesday.

  6. Although I love dogs, I can't resist a talking magical cat so I picked up Guile when it was released. I hope to read it soon as well. Great list and hope you get to them all.

  7. Stars Above was so good! It was a perfect way to say goodbye to the series, even though I didn't want it to end. And I just finished Every Move last night and love that series so much. I think the second was even better than the first! I hope you enjoy all of your books!

  8. AGOS was brilliant, but it's more focused on the characters rather than the plot, which is awesome if you have amazing characters like this series does.

  9. Once Was A Time sounds good, I like time travel anything LOL. And Guile- I clicked over and read the synopsis, that sounds fun! Great picks! I may have to add that one... :)

  10. Stars above and Angelfall are both books I own, but haven't found time to read yet. That's sad. I need more hours in my day, or to learn to read faster. Happy Reading!

  11. I'm reading AGoS right now! I think I'm already liking it more than the first book. And so happy to see Firefight on this list! It was my favorite of the trilogy :D

  14. Man, this totally reminds me that I need to read Angelfall too, I really have no excuse, especially since I own all the books. SOON. Stars Above... I actually wasn't a huge fan >< but everyone else enjoyed it! I just got A Darker Shade of Magic from the library and am looking forward to getting it to soon. Enjoy these :D

  15. I'm definitely intrigued about Once Was a Time too. I haven't read a MG time travel book before so I'll definitely be getting to it soon (well, hopefully).

  18. Such a great list :D I have quite a few of those on my own to-read list and am hoping to get to some soon. I really hope you enjoy Angelfall. It definitely wasn't what I was expecting...in a good way.

  19. I'm just starting out with The Lunar Chronicles (just finished Cinder and waiting for Scarlet to arrive!) but I've heard great things and already can't wait to get to book 2! :)

  20. I really want to read Stars Above as well! Need to read Winter first, but then, I hope to b diving right back into that world. I seriously need to read A Darker Shade of Magic, I've heard fantastic things.

  21. YASSS- AGoS! I *think* it's going to be my next read. There are too many awesome books demanding my attention all at once right now, lol! Angelfall was such an interesting take on angels, dark and apocalyptic and awesome! Can't wait to hear your thoughts on it (and AGoS, of course! XD)!

  22. I would obviously recommend you start with AGOS, I was really happy with it. :) But Every Word is so good, I think it's my favourite of the series - I just finished with Every Move and it's good, but Every Word is better, which is weird, since middle books in trilogies are often less interesting.

In any case, I hope you enjoy all of these! :)
