Harry Potter Moment #134

Harry Potter Moment of the Week

Harry Potter Moment of the Week is a  meme hosted by Leah @ Uncorked Thoughts  and Me @ Lunar Rainbows Reviews. The idea is to share a favorite moment, magical item, character, spell, quote, object from the books, films or J.K.Rowling herself!  How to join up &  upcoming topics here.

Hello my friends! How is everyone's week going?  If anyone needs a pick me up, I've got just the thing: today, we're talking BFFs at Hogwarts!

Who Would Your Best Friend Be at Hogwarts

I doubt that I have to tell you all that I had the HARDEST time picking my bff this week.  I was torn between three fabulous girls, Ginny, Hermione and Luna and it felt completely impossible to pick just one of them.  On the one hand, Ginny is fierce, caring and fiesty. She was always really kind to oddball Luna in the books and was genuinely happy when her ultimate crush, Harry opted to take Luna to Slughorn's party.  Plus she's a Weasley so being friends with her means sleepovers at The Burrow ♥  Then there's Hermione, a know-it-all bookworm who is basically my spirit animal.  I get all warm and fuzzy inside picturing us both huddled together in the Hogwarts Library for days on end, reading magical books and fighting for House Elf rights!  But who can forget sweet, kind Luna, who otherness makes me relate to her on a base level.  She's also super kind and seems incredibly fun and entertaining to be around.  Gah!  HOW to choose?!  I genuinely want to be best friends with all three!

In the end though, I went with my most kindred spirit, Hermione.  By which I mean I asked my boyfriend and a few other friends and they all agreed that she was the way to go.  Books and cleverness? True story.  Plus Hermione seems like she should be in Ravenclaw but she ended up in Gryffindor -  I also always thought I'd be sorted in Ravenclaw (and indeed every sorting quiz I took before Pottermore placed me in Ravenclaw) but then I got sorted into Gryffindor too. #soulmates

  1. I had a hard time picking between those three ladies myself, but ended up with my absolute favorite character in the series. When it comes to Hermione and Luna, I feel like they both could fit in either Ravenclaw or Gryffindor. I agree! Spending time with Hermione would be a lot of fun to me. I remember Harry saying when Hermione was your best friend it meant spending a lot of time in the library. Sounds great to me :D

    1. This was one of the WORST weeks for me: I just could not decide! Honestly I want to be friends with ALL of them but I forced myself to pick ONE (for once LOL!) But when it comes down to it, Hermione is the one I feel I relate the most too - but hopefully we can ALL be friends :D

I have to say my BFF would be Hermione for sure. we'd have a lot in common! although Luna and Ginny would be really great picks as well!

    1. Hi Emily! Thank you so much!! I always love meeting a fellow HP addict :D Hermione ended up being the best choice for me but to be honest, I want to be BFF with all three of those girls ♥ Thanks again and I'm happy you stopped by!

  3. I completely understand your struggle to choose between three such amazing ladies! They're all fiercely loyal friends, but I went with my kindred spirit, too, lol. I'd never get bored hanging out in the library with Hermione. Although if we're being realistic, we'd be studying like 99.9% of the time, which is another reason why we'd be besties- anything less than an A in our classes would mean failure! XD

    1. It was nearly impossible this week - the struggle was real XD In the end though, Hermione was the right choice for me too! I'd love having her as a study buddy and hell, together we'd be top of the class and fellow know-it-alls LOL!

  4. Hmmm ... I don't know who I'd choose. I think Ginny is most like me, but I would definitely be drawn to Luna (and Hermione, too, but in real life she might have gotten on my nerves sometimes in those first few books - I hate to confess it!)

    1. I feel like Hermione is more like me, but I'm drawn to both Ginny and Luna - and to be honest, I feel like they're a lot like me too! Well^^ at least she grew on you eventually ;)

  5. I think I'd choose Hermione too in this situation. Ginny is snarky and great, and who doesn't love Luna? But Hermione is a fellow bookworm. She loves school and learning. She's passionate about equal rights and has a muggle background too. I think we'd be pretty tight!

    1. EXACTLY. Her bookish tendencies plus her passion for school and equal rights just call out to me!

  6. I think I would pick Luna. I love Hermione as a fellow bookworm and clever girl, but I think I would really identify with Luna and how people saw her as an outsider at first. Luna would help me to accept me for who I am, with all my quirks and imperfections.

    1. Luna is a wonderful choice too and I definitely identified with being an outsider in school - still do! Luna being so comfortable in her own skin is an inspiration ♥
