Fandom Mashup #46

Fandom Mashups
Fandom Mashups is an original feature here at Lunar Rainbows Reviews.  The idea is that every week, I propose a unique fictional scenario and then build my personal dream team of five fictional characters from five different fandoms to complete the task!  Anyone is welcome to join in on the fandom fun - all I ask is that you link back to me somewhere in your post :)

Hello my little fanboys and fangirls! How is everyone's weekend going? We've got a very promising and magical topic this week that I can't wait to get into:

You've discovered that you have the unique ability to learn and practice MULTIPLE different kinds of magic. Choose 5 mentors to teach you the ways of their world?

Harry Potter

You're damn right I'm going with Harry Potter again this week. The Boy Who Lived was in his fifth year and he was mentoring like 30 students, teaching them how to do magic they never even dreamed they could do!  Boy Wonder is my ideal mentor^^

Aelin Galathynius

I almost went with Rowan, the hardass and hotass responsible for unleashing Aelin's magic, but then I decided on the Queen herself. I want some of that crazy fire-magic she unleashed at the end of Heir of Fire and I'd love to see her in action firsthand!

Sabriel

Sabriel's awesome magic isn't necessarily fun - in fact it's most certainly falling into dark territory - but I'd feel safer knowing I can take care of myself if some dark necromancer decides to cause trouble! And Sabriel's skills would be brilliant to behold - and learn from!!

Kaladin Stormblessed

Kaladin's powers are nothing short of mind-blowingly epic...even before he begins to develop them fully! His spirit in the face of impossible odds is another thing that I admire about him that would make him an ideal mentor.

Gandalf

It's hard to think about magic without thinking of Gandalf, am I right?!  His powers consistently deliver and well, I would have LOVED to have seen them on display some more so with him teaching me the tricks of the trade? I'm golden!

*BONUS*
(I VERY RARELY cheat on Fandom Mashups but this week I HAD TO)

Aang

Given my love of elemental magic, Aang had to be included. Whatever my element would be (probably Water or Air - though I wouldn't mind Fire either) Aang would have me covered because: he's the Master of ALL Elements :D

  1. If I could only have one magical mentor, it would be Harry! He's a great wizard, a great teacher, a great ... everything! XD I gave Aelin a rare week off and am instead putting Rowan to work, hehe! And I'm super happy that you cheated and included Aang; being the Avatar, he's like four mentors in one, LOL!

    1. SAME HERE LEE ♥ He's my absolute favorite hero too so learning from him would be brilliant! I almost went with Rowan too but I decided to go with Aelin since I wanted more of a male/female balance in my mentors for some reason LOL! And yes, I couldn't resist including Aang because he's so bloody awesome :D

  2. Ah, another truly awesome topic this week! We've got three the same this week (or at least, same magic systems, not necessarily he same teachers), because they were just too good to resist. Haha I love that you had to cheat on this week - some weeks, five is just too tricky!

  3. Oh cool. I love elemental stuff too so seeing that was awesome. In fact I'm working on a discussion post that touches on the elements a bit. Great topic. This is a fun post. And Gandalf- would love to learn more about him and his secrets. :)

    1. Have you ever seen Avatar The Last Airbender Greg?! It's often dismissed as a kids show but the themes and story line are quite mature! Thank you :) Yeah, having Gandalf as a mentor would be amazing!!

  4. WOW, I JUST REALIZED THAT YOU'RE CANADIAN from scrolling down, which I apparently never did for your blog. I live in Canada, but I'm Romanian!

I sure wouldn't mind Kaladin teaching me magic. I MEAN, have you seen the man??

  5. I may have had to have gone with Rowan but I completely understand why you have Aelin on the list! I also would've gone with Gandalf for sure :D Harry, of course, is a perfection! I love that you had to add an extra one this week. Sometimes it's just too hard to narrow it down.
