Fandom Mashup #45

Fandom Mashups
Fandom Mashups is an original feature here at Lunar Rainbows Reviews.  The idea is that every week, I propose a unique fictional scenario and then build my personal dream team of five fictional characters from five different fandoms to complete the task!  Anyone is welcome to join in on the fandom fun - all I ask is that you link back to me somewhere in your post :)

Hi friends: Happy first day of Spring!  After a long Winter of snow-storms passing us by (in Canada, if you can imagine - that NEVER happens) we got light snow that persisted from Thursday morning to Friday evening and now they're calling for a pretty big storm starting tomorrow morning! Eeeep! Have no fear though, I've got books and tea to keep me entertained ;) In the meantime though:

ZOMBIES!  The dead have risen and are trying to take over the land of the living! Who do you want to help you send them back to where they came from?

SABRIEL

Yes, my first pick requires all caps^^ Sabriel is a ridiculously powerful Necromancer and while she doesn't deal with zombies of the trendy variety, sending the risen dead back to where they belong is her job description and she's bloody brilliant at it!

Gandalf

Gandalf might not sound like an obvious choice, but he faced the most evil Necromancer of all: Saruman, not to mention all his horrifying minions/creations. I'd feel much safer with Mithrandir by my side here.

Harry Potter

Full disclosure? Zombies freak me the fuck out so I haven't read many straight up zombie books. This^^ might seem like an odd choice but my reasoning is that Voldemort was pretty much undead. Harry kept killing him and dude would NOT stay down. Harry kept at it though so he's in!

Chloe Saunders (Darkest Powers)

Chloe is another straight up good Necromancer and though she might not have captured my heart like Sabriel and Lirael did, she was pretty cool nonetheless. Once she mastered her powers, she could raise the dead and send them back in a flash. We'll be focussing on the latter this time though Chloe ;)

Sam Winchester

Me beloved Sammy can not only kick major supernatural butt, he's also a whiz at research and setting up a takedown plan.  He'll figure out our best plan of action, give everyone their positions and jobs and then goodbye zombies. Those suckers won't know what hit them!

  1. I'm not into zombies at all either, lol, and also had to think of characters who've gone up against zombie-like creatures. Having Harry on this team makes perfect sense to me! And I really, really, really can't wait to meet Sabriel; that book has been pushed WAY up on my TBR list because of all of your love for it! :D

    1. Honestly? I thought up this topic AFTER reading Sabriel and I figured that zombies was catchier than undead or anything related to Necromancy LOL! I just wanted an excuse to gush about Sabriel ♥ Harry was another no brainer for me but considering how Dumbledore handled those Infiri, I wish I could have included him too^^ Oh and I CAN'T WAIT FOR YOU TO MEET SABRIEL :D

    1. Pretty much any situation would be made better by having Harry Potter and Gandalf on your side, right? XD

  5. "My reasoning is that Voldemort was pretty much undead." MICHELINE, YOU ARE ADORABLE! Totally makes sense, though. ;) And I've missed The Darkest Powers books! Chloe's a pretty awesome pick. :) (Also I seriously need to read Sabriel... *coughs*)

  6. Haha I'm so glad I'm not the only one totally freaked by zombies! Gandalf, Harry & Sabriel are amazing choices, and I definitely think your survival chances go up exponentially with their help. I still haven't read The Darkest Powers although I think I have the first book somewhere... I've also still not seen Supernatural, but I just might have to give it a go since everyone seems to love it.

LOVED this week's topic, such a fun one!

    1. LOL! Nope! Definitely not alone there^^ Well I figured experience with and/or dealing with Necromancy would be helpful! Plus I adore those three so much, it was a win/win :D I'd LOVE to see what you'd make of Supernatural!! I wasn't sure at first but before long I was hooked :D And The Darkest Powers is good fun! Thanks Faith - I always love it when you join in ♥
