Waiting on Wednesday
Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Breaking the Spine in which we spotlight an upcoming book release we're especially looking forward to!Here's my pick this week:
Harry Potter and the Cursed Child by J.K. Rowling
Harry Potter #7.5
Expected Publication: July 31st 2016 by Little Brown
Based on an original new story by J.K. Rowling, Jack Thorne and John Tiffany, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, a new play by Jack Thorne, is the first official Harry Potter story to be presented on stage. It will receive its world premiere in London’s West End on 30th July 2016
It was always difficult being Harry Potter and it isn’t much easier now that he is an overworked employee of the Ministry of Magic, a husband, and father of three school-age children.
While Harry grapples with a past that refuses to stay where it belongs, his youngest son Albus must struggle with the weight of a family legacy he never wanted. As past and present fuse ominously, both father and son learn the uncomfortable truth: sometimes darkness comes from unexpected places.
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!
*FLAILS*
*FANGIRLS*
*DIES*
*ahem*
Yeah, so we're getting an 8th Harry Potter book. No big deal. Please excuse me while I continue to flail, fangirl and die, on and off until the release on THE MOST MAGICAL DAY OF
I NEED THIS NOW!! I NEED IT!!! LIKE I NEED AIR!! I can't wait to get my hands on this. I think I'm gonna cry when I finally read it.

I picked this book this week too, but I am slightly worried. Mostly I just worry about seeing the Golden Trio put through more pain, I just want them happy lol. But we all know I am going to read this as soon as I possibly can.
ReplyDeleteYESSSSSSS MICHELINE!!!! The announcement of this book was the best. News. Ever.
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to read it. I couldn't believe it when I heard the news. I'd love to share the reading process and experience with other people in the blogosphere - it will be just like old times...:))) I wonder if anyone is going to plan anything for the release - would be really great if we could all come together again.
ReplyDeletehas quite the potential but nervous about it. Hope you get to read and love it soon.
ReplyDeleteYou actually made me feel better because when I saw this I was first like OMG YES and then OH NO IT'S NOT BY JKR but it's such a good point that she wouldn't lend her stamp to it if she didn't approve of its contents. So now I can breathe a little easier.
ReplyDeleteAlso, love the TSwift rewrite. Dying. xD
DeleteI added this one to my goodreads too! I had a feeling Rowling wasn't done with the universe, even if she might not be the one actually penning it. She wouldn't have given this project her blessings otherwise! Which is great news for HP fans everywhere!

YAAAAAASSSSS! Harry Potter is LIFE!!
ReplyDeleteOh wow! This is great for HP fans... it is a series I still need to read.
ReplyDeleteI'm still making my way through the series for the first time, so I'm not personally excited for this, but I know so many people who are looking forward to it!
ReplyDeleteMicheline! I'm SCARED! I'm so so nervous about this one! I have total trust in JKR, but I am still afraid. Because HP ended SO PERFECTLY. Even though I won't lie- I'm definitely curious about what happened with the kids. LOL.
ReplyDeleteOhmygod, I still can't believe this is happening!!!! I'm getting all sentimental over the thought of waiting for a new HP book to release and then shutting myself off from the rest of the world to read it. :D
ReplyDeleteHaters gonna hate!! Am I disappointed that the "eighth" Harry Potter book isn't a full novel? A bit. But it wasn't that long ago that I thought we may never get to see more about Harry after DH again. So I'm feeling quite stoked that we will be after all. Film scripts and play scripts are new methods of writing for Jo so of course she brought in help to perfect them. You are so right to say that she wouldn't have ever allowed them to be out there in the world if she didn't back the projects 100% <3
ReplyDeleteI can't wait!! I'm going to see the theatre in August and it's a huge deal because I'm not from the UK so I'll have to figure out everything. I'm definitely going to buy the book ASAP when it comes out.
ReplyDeleteHow can anyone be hating on this, it's the most wonderful news of the decade!!!!
