Top Ten Tuesday #34

Top Ten Tuesday

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish which features a variety of bookish top ten lists!

Top Ten 2015 Releases I Meant To Get To But Didn't

Illuminae -
This will be my very next reads - I'm honestly mad at myself for not reading it already but hey - it's never too late to fix that I suppose. Anyway, I'll soon see what the fuss is all about.

Carry On - My most recent Rowell experience might not have been the best, but I did love Fangirl so I'm fairly certain I'll enjoy this one as well :)

Shadows of Self - With Bands of Mourning coming out, you all know I need to be caught up on my Sanderson before then...which should keep me occupied while I wait for Stormlight #3 *sigh*

The Last Ever After - I've really enjoy the trilogy thus far and well I honestly NEED to know how it all ends for my beloved heroines!

Armada - Having just recently read and loved Ready Player One (stay tuned for my review later in the week) I'll obviously be reading ALL of the Ernest Cline from here on out.

Time Salvager - One of my goals for 2016 is to read more sci-fi and well you all know how much I enjoy my Time-Travel so this one's a no-brainer.

Circles of Stone - I really enjoyed the first book The Bell Between Worlds and since I was lucky enough to score an ARC, I'll be reading the sequel as soon as possible.

Pip Bartlett's Guide to Magical Creatures - In keeping with reading ALL of the Stiefvater books, I can't wait to see how magical Pip Bartlett is ;)

The Orphan Queen - I was super excited when this one released on my birthday last year, but then I sort of just forgot about it.  It made quite a few favorite lists for 2015 so I've been reminded to read it soon LOL!

The Storyspinner - This just sounds right up my alley for for whatever reason, I only found out about it fairly late last year. It has my attention now though so I will read it asap.

  1. Time Salvager! Yesss! I liked it, after a shaky start (wasn't really sure where it was going but stuck with it). Love that cover art too. I think you'll like Illuminae, and School of Good and Evil... I thought about reading those...

  2. I still need to read The Orphan Queen too! I forgot to put that one on my list. I know a ton of people loved it and it sounds right up my alley so hopefully 2016 is the year!

  3. Carry On would definitely be on my list as well Micheline, I had every intention of picking it up and then of course got distracted by other things. I adored The Storyspinner and The Orphan Queen, so I hope you get to those this year!!!

  4. The Storyspinner is one I really want to read too, but I don't think I'm going to get to it this year as I'm focusing on books I already own this year.

  5. Maybe this will be the year I pick up a Brandon Sanderson novel. Then again, they always seem to get pushed farther back each time new books come out. I did manage to read Carry On which was a pretty big release so I can be glad about that I suppose. It's great by the way but I am sure you have heard that by now :)

  7. Oooh The Storyspinner isn't one I'd come across before but it does sound pretty awesome. The Orphan Queen does sound great, and I've heard so many good things about it so I hope it lives up to the hype! Carry On and Armada are both on my list, but I've been thinking of getting Armada on audio to bump it up on my list, since I loved Wil Wheaton's narration of Ready Player One. Hope you have a great reading year!

  8. Great list, Micheline! I keep hearing about The Storyspinner - I might have to check it out. And do you mean to tell me there's a Brandon Sanderson book you HAVEN'T read?! ;) I hope you get to lots of these soon, and that you enjoy them!

  9. I read Illuminae at the way end of last year and I freaking loved it! It was just so uniquely conveyed. I really hope you love it; I'll be looking forward to your review after you finally get to it! Also, I'm glad to see you liked Ready Player One. It's one of my all time favorite reads; I recommend it to everybody. I really liked Armada too, though I've heard many people say that RPO was better in their opinion. I thought they were equally as good. Happy reading!

  10. Great pick of books. I have only read one of these myself and actually only read it last week, and that was Illuminae. I LOVED Illuminae, so I would definitely recommend that. I have a few of these on my shelf and definitely need to get to them at some point.

  11. Read Illuminae! Do not stop, do not collect $200. It's one of those books that lives up to every single centimeter of hype--and I'm super nitpicky, so you should believe me. ;P Orphan Queen was also phenomenal.

I've never read a Brandon Sanderson. That's on my someday TBR...

  13. I've been seeing so much love for Illuminae lately that I may have to push that one up on the TBR. I also need to read Armada; I'm sure it's just as wonderfully geek-tacular as Ready Player One, which I can't wait to check out your review for! :D

  14. Oh I wanted to get to the Last Ever After as well! It always pains me when I fall behind finishing the last book of a trilogy. And I would have loved to get to Carry On as well, but seeing as I was just recently made aware of Rainbow Rowell's awesomeness, I'm going to give myself a pass on that :)

  16. I added The Orphan Queen to my tbr shelf, but I have had Incarnate on my list forever now and I plan on getting to that one sometime in the near future. I'm really interested in Illuminae. I look forward to seeing what you think about that one!

  17. Illuminae is on my shelf still, too, Micheline! and I really want to read it, like now... but it's so beautiful, and I don't want to break the spine :D
    Great list!

  18. Illuminae and Carry On are books I hope to get to soon. I was a little skeptical about Carry On but since it came out, it's been getting great reviews so now I'm rather excited about picking it up.

  19. I totally agree with you on Illuminae, Carry On and especially The Last Ever After (which I started but never finished :() I really want to read more Brandon Sanderson because I loved the Rithmatist.

  21. I'm reading Illuminae really soon, too! And I definitely want to read Armada and Storyspinner soon, too. I haven't heard of a lot of these so I'll have to check them out. I hope you can get to all of these next year!
