Harry Potter Moment #125

Harry Potter Moment of the Week

Harry Potter Moment of the Week is a  meme hosted by Leah @ Uncorked Thoughts  and Me @ Lunar Rainbows Reviews. The idea is to share a favorite moment, magical item, character, spell, quote, object from the books, films or J.K.Rowling herself!  How to join up &  upcoming topics here.

Hello beloved Potter-heads! We've got a really fun topic lined up this week, but before we get to it, I wanted to express my sadness over the loss of Alan Rickman. Professor Snape might not have been a favorite character of mine, but he was was without a doubt fascinating and he was beautifully brought to life by Alan Rickman. May he rest in peace.

Which character would you want to be stranded on an island with?

Naturally, I thought about this question in like a million different ways...which led to multiple possible answers. Anyone surprised? Didn't think so. And away we go:

Harry - to escape

*IF* I wanted to escape that is - and I'm not saying I do - I think Harry would be my best bet! If we're not thinking about escaping, I just really want to hang out with my hero. I bet he'd have some good stories and even though I've probably heard them before, I'd be hanging on his every word.

Hermione - as a reading buddy

If we are to be stuck on this island for a while, Hermione would likely have ALL the best books in that amazing handbag of hers ♥ I'm sure she could figure out an escape as well, but Hermione tends to be better at practicality than action so let's pretend escape isn't the plan for this one

Dumbledore -  as a mentor

Just imagine how much you could learn from Dumbledore from being anywhere with him for a while! I get excited just thinking about it :D I mean, obviously we could escape in a flash, but who would want to?!

Luna -  for companionship

I think Luna would be THE BEST kind of company if one finds themselves trapped somewhere. She could tell stories, play games and generally just be her own entertaining self. I think she'd be a wonderful friend to have regardless of the scenario.

Sirius for romantic tension (I can always dream, right?)

I have a pretty shameless crush on Sirius Black and the fact that he's never officially been linked to any character romantically (other than Lupin LOL) just makes me dream all the more. Even if he's not interested, I still plan to swoon unashamedly.

The Weasley Twins -  for entertainment

Fred and George would be the best distraction for being trapped anywhere. They'd make you laugh, get into trouble and just be as entertaining as hell! Never a dull moment, deserted island or otherwise.

So it's official: I'm never, ever leaving the island.

  1. Ha! The Weasley twins would definitely make the island a lot more fun. And Luna would be great company too. I love how you thought about this from all of the angles.

    1. It's just SO utterly sad. I can't believe he's gone D: He was the perfect Snape, even though I'm not a Snape fangirl, I can't deny that Alan Rickman played the role to perfection!

  4. LOL I had the same struggle while making the list as to whether it would be someone to help me get home or I'd want to hang out with so Dumbledore was a no brainer for a mix of the two. I love your choices though and so right on. Luna and Weasley twins are my perfect choice for just entertainment purposes. I agree that Hermione would help pass the time with all her amazing books and the discussions we could have about them! She doesn't have anyone to passionately discuss books with. Then Harry and Dumbledore of course as the heroes that could help us get home. I don't quite have a crush on Sirius though I do think he'd be a blast to hang around.

    1. Dumbledore is totally the perfect mix of the two options Jaclyn^^ Luna and The Weasley Twins are entertaining to no end - I wish that they're characters had gotten to spend more time together though. Hermione would be the one I'd want to have readalongs and book clubs with LOL! Harry is an automatic choice for me because I just love him to pieces <3

  5. I was so sad to hear about Alan Rickman this morning!
I think I would love getting to know Luna on the island. She wasn't my favorite character when I was little, but her oddness and sweetness is definitely growing on me now that I know how rare it is!

    1. So sad…I still can't really believe it :(

Luna is just so special and unique, sure a part of me might get annoyed with her sometimes like Hermione did but she's just so sweet and imaginative, I'd love to hand out with her just for that :)

  6. Such sad news today about Alan Rickman; Daniel Radcliffe's tribute to him was so touching.

I love how you did multiple scenarios here, lol. You could count on Hermione to have an endless supply of reading material in her handbag. And obviously, if I were stranded on the island with just Sirius, well, I'd have zero incentive to ever leave. XD

    1. So tragic but I agree, Daniel Radcliffe's words about him were beautiful <3

You know me, I can never give just a simple answer LOL! Hermione and that bag would be a life saver here, I bet she has TONS of books in there! And hello Sirius, alone on a island - who needs the real world XD
