Top Ten Tuesday #30

Top Ten Tuesday

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish which features a variety of bookish top ten lists!

Top Ten Books I Wouldn't Mind Santa Leaving Under My Tree This Year

The Name of the Wind - As an epic fantasy lover, it's high time that I introduce myself to Patrick Rothfuss. This sounds like such a 'me' book...and if the GR rating for this one is any indication, I'll kick myself for not reading it sooner.

The Aeronaut's Windlass - Another glaring omission in my sci-fi/fantasy repertoire, is Jim Butcher. Either Storm Front or The Aeronaut's Windlass would do Santa, as I do need to read both and finally see what the fuss is all about.

Harry Potter Colouring Book - Naturally, as it is with all things Harry Potter, I must have this. I love colouring books and I'm really getting a kick out of this new 'adult colouring book' trend. The art on this one looks fabulous too, I can't wait to put my crayons to these pages!

Red Rising - I've heard way too much praise about this one to ignore it any longer - I need this to be under my tree Santa. Oh and please let Faith know as soon as you do, it should make her quite happy ;)

The Last Ever After - I loved this series so far but I've yet to get my hands on the finale. It was listed as being at BEA, (like the previous two) but instead they were just handing out posters (womp womp)

My Soul to Take - My ignorance of this series - and this author has gone on long enough. I have a reputation at stake here Santa! Help a book nerd out?

Something Strange and Deadly - Now that I've read Truthwitch, I'm eager to read more Susan Dennard. I didn't think I'd like this series when it first came out, but I've since changed my mind. Bring on the zombies, Santa!

Old Man's War - I'm on a classic fantasy/sci-fi kick this year Santa, what can I say?! Old Man's War is another one of the glaring gaps in my bookish knowledge that I need to take care of.

Firefight - As an obvious Sanderson fangirl it seems wrong that I still haven't read Firefight.  Even though I prefer his adult fantasies, I really enjoyed Steelheart so Firefight would be appreciated :)

Doctor Who Colouring Book - Yup. Another colouring book. Bring on ALL the fandom colouring books, for I shall colour them ALL. Allons-y!

  1. Great list, Micheline! I still haven't read Steelheart, but it's on my TBR, and I keep meaning to check out Patrick Rothfuss, too - I'm only just starting to get back into high fantasy. That Harry Potter Colouring Book looks like a lot of fun. I hope you find some of these under your tree - Merry Christmas!

  2. Yes to The Name of the Wind and Old Man's War! I've been eyeing the Doctor Who colouring book too, haha; I reckon a lot of TARDIS blue will be used up over the course of colouring it! I hope you find all of these books under your tree later this week, Micheline :) Merry Christmas!

  3. I'm pretty excited about Aeronaut's Windlass, the steampunk and airships thing has me interested. Looks so original. And I've looked at the school for Good and Evil several times but never picked them up. I'm curious... :)

  4. If I was your Santa, I would not give you The name of the wind, hehe. I was utterly bored by that one (and you know how much I love my fantasy) HP color book, YES PLEASE. I also would love to get Something strange and deadly :)

  5. I've been very tempted to buy the HP coloring book but keep telling myself that I need to complete the other adult coloring book I bought a few months ago first, lol. You've heard that there's going to be a Throne of Glass coloring book, right? I can't WAIT to see that! :D
