Fandom Mashups #33

Fandom Mashups
Fandom Mashups is an original feature here at Lunar Rainbows Reviews.  The idea is that every week, I propose a unique fictional scenario and then build my personal dream team of five fictional characters from five different fandoms to complete the task!  Anyone is welcome to join in on the fandom fun - all I ask is that you link back to me somewhere in your post :)

Hello all! How was everyone's Christmas? I had a wonderful time with the boyfriend, family, friends and the kitties of course ♥ Since the 26th things have been quiet with everyone recuperating from too many indulgences but today we're having a Wii Party :D Video games will be played - often poorly - but we'll have fun which is the point isn't it? With 2016 closer than ever, here's our topic this week:

With the new year close at hand, you've decided that self-improvement is the way to go. But you need some inspiration. Which characters would you pick to inspire you to better yourself.

Harry Potter

If my hero of all heroes can't inspire me, who will?! Harry truly does inspire me to be brave, to follow my heart and to always remember the importance of love.

Kaladin Stormblessed

Naturally, I need another of my all-time favorite heroes here and Kaladin fits the bill. Kaladin went from respected soldier, to slave and back again. He inspires me to never give up, always keep fighting and never lose hope.

Aelin Galathynius

And the ultimate hero train keeps rolling. Aelin is an inspiration to always remember who you truly are. Even when things seemed darkest, she always kept going. She made and remade herself into a fire-breathing bitch queen and made me want to be one too ;)

The Doctor

The Doctor just sort of inspires everyone he meets I think, so how could he not make this list.  He's an inspiration to be a better person, to always lend a helping hand whenever you can...and to live every day like he might show up and take us away ♥

Blue Sargent

Blue could have easily gotten an inferiority complex from being the only non-gifted member of her family, but instead what does she do? She makes herself useful with the abilities she does have, she embarks on a spectacular mission into magic, AND she befriends four of the most amazing boys ever. How is that not inspiring?!

  1. Glad your Christmas was awesome! I overindulged not only on food, but on watching TV and just being lazy, lol.

I definitely need to learn a thing or two from Aelin and Blue in 2016: Aelin's fearlessness and unwillingness to give up EVER, and Blue's comfort in being herself and having impeccable taste in friends. XD

  2. Aelin is a great choice! Actually, I love all the characters on your list, the only one I don't know is Kaladin. I will have to look him up.

I love reading fandom mashups, it's such a fun idea.

  3. YES TO HARRY. I mean, yes, I STILL haven't finished the series *hides* but he's Harry Potter. You know. I also tried to read The Way of Kings (and again haven't finished it yet) and loved what I read of Kaladin. <3

  4. I hope your Christmas was amazing!! I completely agree with your list having Harry and Aelin! They are definite inspirations and have been through so much. I like that perseverance that they share and still able to not drown in sorrow. I haven't read about Blue yet but she's on my list to read. As soon as the next one comes out, I plan on starting the series. I love your list :D

    1. Thank you so much Jaclyn, you too! Yeah, there was no way I wasn't going to have Harry and Aelin on here this week! They've been through EVERYTHING but they still find a way to keep fighting and do the right thing, no matter what! I can't wait for you to meet Blue…and the Raven Boys ;) Thank you!! xx

  5. Such a great team!! I debated picking Harry Potter for the exact same reason you said. He spent all of his childhood neglected and verbally abused and yet he still had one of the kindest hearts ever. He never let the fame go to his head and change him and he always did the right thing even if it would kill him. He is such an inspirational character!
I really need to meet Kaladin!! I have the book and I want to read it but its size intimidates me. I am terrified of reading it because of how long it would take me to finish! I don't want to spend a month on just one book. Is it worth it though? Is it one of the best?
    Happy 2016 Reading =D
