Harry Potter Moment of the Week
Harry
Potter Moment of the Week is a meme hosted by Leah @ Uncorked
Thoughts and Me @ Lunar Rainbows Reviews. The idea is to share a favorite moment,
magical item, character, spell, quote, object from the books, films or
J.K.Rowling herself! How to join up & upcoming
topics here.
Favorite quote from Philosopher's Stone
Oh wow, yeah narrowing this topic down to one answer is soooo not going to happen. I've managed to pick out 8 favorites - and this is just the first book! LOL! Let's start with the obvious ones:
“It does not do to dwell on dreams and forget to live.”
“To the well-organized mind, death is but the next great adventure.”
“The truth... It is a beautiful and terrible thing, and should therefore be treated with great caution.”
Moving on to the odd but entertaining:
“Nitwit! Blubber! Oddment! Tweak!”
“There are some things you can't share without ending up liking each other, and knocking out a twelve-foot mountain troll is one of them.”
“Draco Dormiens Nunquam Titillandus.” (Never tickle a sleeping dragon.)
And finally, the outright funny ones:
“So light a fire!" Harry choked. "Yes...of course...but there's no wood!" ... "HAVE YOU GONE MAD!" Ron bellowed. "ARE YOU A WITCH OR NOT!”
“I hope you're pleased with yourselves. We could all have been killed - or worse, expelled. Now if you don't mind, I'm going to bed.”
XD
These are ALL so awesome! ❤ I still LOL at Hermione forgetting for a moment that she was a witch, and how to her, getting expelled from school was worse than dying. XD
ReplyDeleteLove this! I chose the forgetful Hermione one too, it always makes me laugh that she just completely blanks! Great choices :)
ReplyDeleteHermione has some of the best lines in Philosopher's Stone! Along with Snape and Dumbledore :)
ReplyDeleteMy post :)
Such great quotes!! We did choose a lot of the same ones. The one that I adore that I didn't put up on mine is the one about death. Dumbledore is so right on about things! I also thought about including the “Nitwit! Blubber! Oddment! Tweak!” one because I love how that showcases a side to Dumbledore that we didn't especially get to see in the movies.
ReplyDeleteOh yeah, there was no way I was going to choose just one quote! Your choices are awesome! :D J.K. Rowling really knows how to write. Those characters are beautiful and funny and snarky. It's so fun going back through the book to remind myself which quotes are my favorite.
