Waiting on Wednesday *115*

Waiting on Wednesday

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Breaking the Spine in which we spotlight an upcoming book release we're especially looking forward to!

Here's what I'm waiting on this week:

Shadows of Self by Brandon Sanderson
Mistborn #5
Expected Publication: October 6th 2015 by Tor

Shadows of Self shows Mistborn’s society evolving as technology and magic mix, the economy grows, democracy contends with corruption, and religion becomes a growing cultural force, with four faiths competing for converts.

This bustling, optimistic, but still shaky society now faces its first instance of terrorism, crimes intended to stir up labor strife and religious conflict. Wax and Wayne, assisted by the lovely, brilliant Marasi, must unravel the conspiracy before civil strife stops Scadrial’s progress in its tracks.

Shadows of Self will give fans of The Alloy of Law everything they’ve been hoping for and, this being a Brandon Sanderson book, more, much more.
I was sure I'd featured this one already, but apparently I hadn't. Which clearly needed to be rectified. If Brandon Sanderson has a new book coming out, you can be sure I'm waiting on it!  I'm planning on (finally!) reading The Alloy of Law soon, so hopefully the wait for this one^^ won't be too torturous, since it comes out quite early in the fall.  It seems criminal that I haven't read The Alloy of Law yet, but as I've said before, I needed time to heal when I finished the original trilogy.  Now I have, for the most part *sniff*, and this new trilogy is calling my name.  I'll be answering the call very soon, my precious.

  1. Ah, so this one is a continuation of the Mistborn trilogy... Is it just set in the same world but with a different plot and character focus or is it a direct continuation of the original trilogy? Just curious!

    1. It's sort of a continuation trilogy set hundreds of years in the future of the original trilogy. It's set in the same world but it has a new host of characters and plot, though I don't have any more specific information than that since I still need to read the first book in this new trilogy XD

    1. I have read his Mistborn series and this one here^^ is actually a continuation of that very series, set hundreds of years in the future. It's sort of a spin-off trilogy and this one is the second one. I hope you will check out his works, he's a favorite of mine!

  4. Heck yeah! I'm looking forward to this so much! Sanderson always delivers, especially since I loved Alloy of Law, probably more than the entire original Mistborn trilogy put together :)
