Top Ten Tuesday #25

Top Ten Tuesday

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish which features a variety of bookish top ten lists!

Top Ten Books on my TBR for Summer 2015

The Novice I've actually started this but haven't made much progress since I've been so busy lately. It's already captured my interest though so I'm looking forward to giving it the time it deserves.

Knight's Shadow I really enjoyed the first book and I've been wanting to get my hands on this one ever since.  This is another one I've started but haven't had the time to dig into properly.

The Lies of Locke Lamora I *just* started this one as part of a readalong that I was really pumped about, but with 3 review books on the go, BEA and then me getting sick, I've had to put it on pause. From what I've heard, I'd rather wait until I'm not as swamped so I can give it my undivided attention.

Uprooted This precious gem only just made it's way to my door last week. AS SOON as I clear up a few review books, I'll be diving right into this! And I can't wait because it sounds SO GOOD.

The Riverman This was an unsolicited ARC that the publisher was kind enough to offer to send to me.  I love a good MG read, so I'm really excited to see what it's all about!

Fairyland #3 I was lucky enough to score a finished copy of the 4th book, so I really must get caught up on September's last starring role here^^ before I can move on with the series. I almost don't want September's part to end, but at the same time, I'm curious as to how things will go down for her.

The Alloy of Law I have been CRAVING this book now that I've had enough time to heal from The Hero of Ages. It might have something to do with Shadows of Self's approaching release ;) And you all know that I can't go too long without a regular Sanderson fix.

Shiver Since The Raven King's release has been pushed back, I feel like I NEED me some Stiefvater, so what better time to finally get started on her other works?! I know this series has been hit or miss for readers, but I'm still super curious about it all.

Soulless Some light-hearted humor and adventure always sounds good to me, but it sounds even better during the warm Summer months.  Soulless should be the perfect fix for that!

The Winner's Curse I seriously must find out what the fuss is all about with this one, especially since the cover for the third book came out! If I hurry, I can be all caught up by the time it releases.

That's it for my Summer reading list^^
What's yours?

  1. I really want to read most of these! My list is full of contemporaries as I generally prefer those in the summer months but as soon as autumn hits I think I'll be obsessed with fantasy.

  2. Oh, I really want to read Novice and Uprooted, too! It was so hard picking my books for this list. I'm sure it'll change, but I picked some good ones, as did you. I loved Shiver! The Winner's Curse was pretty meh for me, but I'm in the minority apparently. Everyone else loved it. I hope you enjoy all of these!

  3. Oh man, I still have to pick up the third Fairyland book xD And I'm so excited for Shadows of Self and the book after that (whose title escapes me right now). I hope you enjoy the rest of The Lies of Locke Lamora when you get back to it :)

Great list, happy reading this summer =D My TTT

  4. Uprooted is the only one on the list I've read, but it really is good. I hope you enjoy it!

  5. The Winner's Curse was amazing! Hope you enjoy all the books! Happy Reading :D

  6. Knight's Shadow and Uprooted!!! Both such great reads - I hope you'll enjoy them and I can't wait to read your reviews of them :)

  7. You've got some wonderful books here. By the way, your theme is gorgeous! <3 Love it.

  8. OMG YES. The Lies of Locke Lamora needs your UNDIVIDED ATTENTION. That book is INTENSE and you'll probably be dead by the end of it. It's okay though. I am right here *pats* You'll live.. possibly...

Also YAY for Uprooted... i still need to read it .-. But I know I am going to love it ... and I'll get around to reading it over the summer.

I HAVENT READ THE WINNER'S CURSE EITHER. There is so much hype surrounding the book and I worry. But I also worry since a couple of people have mentioned it isn't so much fantastical as historical :/

AND I HOPE YOU LOVE SHIVER. You need to let me know how that goes for you! I am curious as to whether that will be a hit or miss for you!

I hope you manage to read all these lovelies by the end of summer!! :) <3

  9. YES TO ALMOST EVERYTHING HERE! I'm reading The Knight's Shadow right now and it's quite hard to get into it at the moment (it IS less witty as the first one) so I hope to get there soon. The Novice, I'm getting to the end nicely... slow, but, well, nice and slow wins the race, right? Haha. BUT DEFINITELY YES TO EVERYTHING BRANDON SANDERSON!!! Can we just get all his books right now please?

  10. You've got such a beautiful website and the list was great. I plan on reading Souless sometime soon. I've heard nothing, but good things about that series. :) Here's my list: http://bookishrealmreviews.blogspot.com/2015/06/top-10-tuesday-top-10-for-summer.html

  11. Soulless and The Winner's Curse are both books I really need to read! My mom read the Parasol Protectorate series and really like it, and I actually have The Winner's Curse, so that is necessary to read too. Great list!

  12. I want to reread Winner's Curse before I read the sequel because I don't remember it at all, but the fact that I'm going to have to reread it is making me procrastinate. You're lucky because you won't have very long to wait for the last book :D

  13. Great list, Micheline! So many of these books are on my TBR. I've heard quite a few people say they didn't enjoy Shiver, but I'd much rather read about werewolves than vampires so I'm planning on checking it out once I have The Raven Boys under my belt. :) I really want to read Uprooted and Soulless, too - I own them both, I just have such a huge TBR!

  14. Uprooted and Novice are books that I would like to get to before the year is out. I have had Soulless to read for years and just need to make the time for it. I hope that you enjoy The Winner's Curse. I really liked it myself. Happy summer of reading.

  15. I thought The Winner's Curse was kind of overrated, but hope that I'm going to enjoy The Winner's Crime a bit more. Uprooted though ... loved it!

  16. Ooh great list! A lot of these have also made their way to my tbr - I haven't read any of these yet!

Uprooted - it seems like this one came out of nowhere for me! It was like one moment no one was talking about it and now everyone is. And they're all very positive reviews so yay!!

Shiver - I've also heard some mixed reviews from this series of hers. My general understanding is that people seem to think her books have gotten better and better over the years, so her fae series is the least favourite, then her werewolf series, etc. At any rate, I wholeheartedly recommend The Scorpio Races!! It hold such a special place in my heart and I think you will love it too. Plus it's a standalone!

  17. Soulless FTW! I hope you love it as much as I did, and find it as hilarious as I did! I need a Stiefvater fix soon, too; would you still be interested in doing a buddy read of Shiver? :D

  18. Uprooted and The Winner's Curse are on my shelves to be read at some point. Shiver was only so-so for me. I hope you have better luck with it. Have a great summer! Happy Reading!

  19. Uprooted!! YES! I can't wait to get to this one. Everyone is loving it.

  20. Uprooted was really amazing!! I really loved it, it's high fantasy and dense at some parts, but overall it's a fantastic read. The Winner's curse series is okay though, I personally feel it's overhyped. Hope you enjoy these reads :) <3 Benish | Feminist Reflections
