Top Ten Tuesday #14

Top Ten Tuesday

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish which features a variety of bookish top ten lists!

Hi everyone and happy Tuesday!  This week's topic is about what's on our Spring TBR shelf.  Now most of the books I want to get to this Spring won't necessarily be new releases...more like whatever I feel like I must get to as soon as possible.  As much as I am a notorious mood-reader, I hope that I'll be able to get through most of these:

A Darker Shade of Magic - One of my very next planned reads, I'm dying to be blown away by alternate Londons and all the magic!

The Winner's Curse - With the sequel getting glowing reviews all around, it's time I see what the fuss is about :)

A Monster Calls - My feels needed to be ready for this one, I know it's going to be tough, but totally worthwhile too! I actually *just* started this one yesterday.

Shadow and Bone - I'm possible the last person alive to not have read this yet...and I need to fix that.

The Alloy of Law - The MASSIVE hangover I had when I finished The Hero of Ages has let up some and I'm craving returning to this amazing world and see how much has changed.

Fourth Grave Beneath My Feet - Love this series, but I've been drawing it out to make it last longer...I sense the need to return to Charley is fast approaching.

Soulless - A recent birthday gift, I've heard wonderful things about this series so I can't wait to get acquainted.

Finnikin of the Rock - Another recent gift, I've been dying to read some Marchetta and I think me and Finnikin will get along marvelously ;)

Outlander - There's a lot of talk of this series, good and bad but my curiosity is still going strong so I must satisfy it.

The Casual Vacancy - I can't call myself JKR's number one fan while I haven't read all her works. That's going to change soon - especially with the miniseries out already!

  1. Oh, Outlander! You're in for a treat! I've heard really good things about the Darynda Jones books, I need to start those. I should have put A Darker Shade of Magic on my list since I'm definitely planning on reading it soon. Great list, happy Spring!

  5. You have so many great books on here, hun! I loooved A Darker Shade of Magic so much and I think you'll enjoy it too :)
Winner's Curse is also on my list, I finally caved on bought it a few weeks ago. Shadow and Bone is so good - I finished the whole series last summer :) (I still haven't read any Sanderson though >__<)
I really enjoyed the first Parasol Protectorate book but didn't make it past the second one because at the end of it there was one of my biggest bookish pet peeves...
Finnikin of the Rock. I haven't read it either but I stumbled across it quite a lot lately. Maybe I should read it after all? I'm curious to hear what you think of it when you're done :)
Oh and Outlander! I read it... ten years ago? ^^' I haven't read the latest 2 or so books in the series but the characters really stayed with me.

Awesome list, hun! I hope you get to all of them :)

  6. I've heard a lot of great things about V.E. Schwab and so I'm tempted to pick up one of her books. When A Monster Calls also looks really interesting. I didn't like A Casual Vacancy as much as I would have liked but the book is definitely moving. I hope you enjoy it!

Thanks for stopping by my list

  7. Shadow and Bone is such an great book! I hope you enjoy it.
Yeah, I feel guilty about not having read Rowling's Adult books. I got over 200 pages into Casual Vacancy before I decided that I just couldn't take it anymore (because of content and characters), but I need to try it again sometime. I've also heard a lot of good things about "Robert's" books and I'm hoping I'll like them more.

  8. The Alloy of Law is fantastic, I cannot wait for the next books to come out! I thought The Casual Vacancy was a very interesting novel, the character interaction was mesmerising (despite of how horrible many of the characters were to each other!). Looking forward to reading your thoughts on these books, happy reading! :)

  9. Yay for The Winner's Curse! I really liked the book and wholeheartedly recommend it (haha I'm a blogger with one of those glowing reviews:D) I need to read all the other books on your list, too, but Shadow and Bone will be first for me. I bought the book around last month and have yet to read it. Anyways, enjoy your books:)

  11. A DARKER SHADE OF MAGIC! That reminds me, I STILL haven't finished it D: I don't know what's wrong with me nowadays, it's so hard to hold my attention with a book, and I'm constantly tired because of school!

AND I HOPE YOU LIKE SHADOW AND BONE! It's one of my favourites!

  12. Yep yep, I second all of these. All are amazing books or are books I also want to read ,aha. Can't speak for The Alloy of Law though, I haven't heard of that one. Off topic, I did start Mistborn and it is a little intimidating-the print is super small in my copy D:

  13. Ooh, you have some promising books here! I want to read The Winner's Curse too. I so love the title, right?
I was hooked since reading the synopsis.

Thanks for sharing and happy reading!

  14. I have read The Alloy of Law (loved it), Finnikin of the Rock(not as awesome as recs, but nice), Outlander (ok but too long).
I am really not tempted to read The Casual Vacancy, the summary sounds like something I do not like so I don't want to spoil HP impression.
As for the rest they are not on my current ttt list, but they are on my tbr. :)

Great list! I hope you enjoy them all! Happy reading!

  16. I've been seeing nothing but AMAZING reviews for A Darker Shade of Magic; I need to try and get my hands on a copy of it. I enjoyed Outlander overall but did find it a little slow at times. The TV series is fantastic; I'm obsessed with it and can't wait for the second half of the season to start next month. And obviously, I wholeheartedly recommend Finnikin of the Rock and Soulless! XD

  17. Shadow and Bone is so so so good! I really hope you love that one. And Outlander is one I need to read soon as well. I refuse to watch the show before I read the book lol Great line up here! Happy reading!

  18. I really liked The Winner's Curse, but still need to read the sequel. A Darker Shade of Magic is extremely high on my list, too. I've already bought my copy and everything. I still need to read A Casual Vacancy (and the two mysteries). Great list! I hope you love them all!

  19. I've been hearing such rave reviews about A Darker Shade of Magic. I definitely need to read that one soon- as well as The Winner's Curse! I may end up waiting for the last book though and binge reading them all. I've heard so many amazing things about Marchetta- I definitely want to read one of her books soon! I hope you get to all these Micheline!

  20. The first four books are all great reads, even though I didn't like the romance in The Winner's Curse. Currently reading A Darker Shade of Magic though but loving it :) Except for Lila... ugh. Also, I DNF'd Finnikin of the Rock, so I really hope it'll work better for you and Souless was nice!! Especially the manga version, you have to try it!!
