Top Ten Tuesday #12

Top Ten Tuesday

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish which features a variety of bookish top ten lists!

Happy Tuesday everyone! Hey look at me, I'm back with another edition of TTT after just one week - much better than my 2-year hiatus before that.  I couldn't resist the topic this week of course, any excuse to gush about our favorite books is a total treat, am I right? So without further ado - and with lots of cheating - here we go;

Top Ten All-Time Favorite Books

1. Deathly Hallows - As impossible as it feels to pick one favorite within my favorite series of life, I'll always have a special kind of affection for the one where all the puzzle pieces fell into place. The one that proved that Harry was indeed the hero I always knew he was ♥  Honorable mentions go out to Prisoner of Azkaban & Half Blood Prince which are tied as my second favorites LOL

2. The Way of Kings + Words of Radiance - There is NO WAY I'm even attempting to pick a favorite with this series.  Each of them has so.freaking.much. going on, so many feels and so much EPIC that I could never, ever decide.

 3. Heir of Fire - Again, this is another series that was impossible to narrow down to one.  I adore ALL of these books for different reasons but HoF brought on a full force of feels...which is saying something.  And with more magic and history, it was a cinch to be the winner. So far. Honorable mentions to Crown of Midnight & The Assassin's Blade for their contribution to the feels party. *cries all the tears*

4. The Raven Boys + The Dream Thieves: The only two I've read in the series so far but there was no way I was picking favorites. None.  The first books brought this amazing story to life...but the second was was all about Ronan. Oh and the Adam+Ronan feels. Gah! PS- Blue Lily, Lily Blue is next on my reading list.  About time too...>.<

5. Mistborn:The Final Empire - I adore this trilogy as a whole but where most people seem to prefer the third book in the series, I'll always hold a special place in my heart for the one that started it all. Being introduced to such amazing characters, watching them become friends and then change the world is hard to beat.

6. Catching Fire - Another trilogy I have nothing but love for, but the middle book was always my favorite of the lot.  The sequel is rarely as good as the first book, but CF managed to surpass The Hunger Games for me. And let's face it, the last one was a MAJOR bummer and pretty much destroyed me - I still can't think of that one without cringing. So yeah, CF is my favorite!

7. Every Breath - To say that contemporary books aren't my go-to genre would be an understatement.  That being said, the fact that this one makes the cut says a lot about it.  I'm sure that once I read books 2 & 3 they'll earn a spot on this list too. Such an amazing book!

8. Dreamfever + Shadowfever - This series hooked my right from the first book, but it was the last two volumes of the series that nearly killed me. The mysteries, the huge reveals and the sexy times were built up to the breaking point and I thought my head would explode from the awesome.

9.Daughter of Smoke & Bone - Another beloved series as a whole, but to me the first book in the series captured my heart in a way that the others didn't quite manage to.  The second one came close, but it was much sadder...so I like to remember the happier times^^

10.Anne of Green Gables - This was my favorite book as a child and it has stayed with me way into adulthood.  I did enjoy the first few sequels quite a bit but unfortunately, my interest steadily declined with the later books. Despite that, I have nothing but love for Anne Shirley.

  1. Awesome picks! I loved DH the most as well, and I think CF was the best in THG trilogy as well, although the three books are well tied for me :) I have yet to read a bunch of other books on the list. I am super stoked for Sanderson and Taylor. :D

  2. I have The Way of Kings and the Heir of Fire, well the Throne of Glass series, on my list too. I'm waiting for Words of Radiance in paperback (out this week I think) as I can't manage to hold a hardback that size!! haha. Can't wait to read on!

  4. I don't think you could get me to decide which of the three Mistborn books I like, they all hold a special place in my heart for different reasons (hence why I chose all three for my list this week) :) Great list!

  5. Of course Harry Potter made the list ;)
    Catching Fire is my favorite HG book as well. I love that we get to know a lot of the old victors and how the world and characters are already established so it jumps right in.
    I need to reconsider reading the Throne of Glass series. I started the first book a couple of years ago and DNF'd it after a hundred and some pages. I just couldn't get into it. But now with everyone raving about it I want to love it. So yeah, maybe it needs a second chance.

  6. Great list! I totally agree with Throne of Glass and Daughter of Smoke and Bone. I need to finish/catch up with both of those series though. I went with a 5 year time frame, so some of these missed the cut on my list because of that. My favorite HP book is Goblet of Fire :)

  7. Deathly Hallows is my fave HP book too :) YES to The Raven Boys and The Dream Thieves, I'm picking up the 3rd book very soon too. Catching Fire is my favourite of The Hunger Games trilogy too, I really didn't enjoy Mockingjay, although I'm liking the film adaptation a lot more than the book, so that's positive!

  8. The Fever books are so good! I basically went into a Fever coma, just reading them after each other because they were just so damn good. Great list :D

  9. It's nice to find others who thought CF was the best Hunger Games book! I tend to lump all the trilogy together, because I can't read just one at a time, but the middle is the best part! My TTT;
