Waiting on Wednesday *104*

Waiting on Wednesday

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Breaking the Spine in which we spotlight an upcoming book release we're especially looking forward to!

Here's my first pick of the new year:

Illusionarium by Heather Dixon
Expected Publication: May 19th 2015 by Greenwillow

What if the world holds more dangers—and more wonders—than we have ever known? And what if there is more than one world?

Jonathan is perfectly ordinary. But then—as every good adventure begins—the king swoops into port, and Jonathan and his father are enlisted to find the cure to a deadly plague. Jonathan discovers that he's a prodigy at working with a new chemical called fantillium, which creates shared hallucinations—or illusions. And just like that, Jonathan is knocked off his path.
Beyond that eye-catching cover, Illusionarium has all the things I love in one pretty package: Parallel worlds in the form of alternate London, adventure, action and humor!  Honestly, I feel like the blurb is much too short, but that could just be my compulsive need to know more.  Regardless, I was lucky enough to snag an ARC of this one, so I won't have to wait too long to find out all the details :D

What are YOU waiting on this week?
Link me to your post and I'll be sure to stop by!

  4. Oh the prettiness! And of course I dig the idea of an alternate London - especially if it's anything like an alternate (Lyra's) Oxford, heh. Parallel worlds are always good stuff!

  5. VERY love/hate feelings toward parallel universes but since this is historical and set in London, it may actually end up being a hit. Haven't read one quite like this one before. I hope we both end up enjoying it! :D
