Waiting on Wednesday *99*

Waiting on Wednesday

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by  Breaking the Spine which spotlights upcoming book releases that we're especially looking forward to!

Here's my pick this week:

Shadow Scale by Rachel Hartman
Seraphina #2
Expected Publication: March 10th (!!) 2015 by Random House

The kingdom of Goredd: a world where humans and dragons share life with an uneasy balance, and those few who are both human and dragon must hide the truth. Seraphina is one of these, part girl, part dragon, who is reluctantly drawn into the politics of her world. When war breaks out between the dragons and humans, she must travel the lands to find those like herself—for she has an inexplicable connection to all of them, and together they will be able to fight the dragons in powerful, magical ways.

As Seraphina gathers this motley crew, she is pursued by humans who want to stop her. But the most terrifying is another half dragon, who can creep into people’s minds and take them over. Until now, Seraphina has kept her mind safe from intruders, but that also means she’s held back her own gift. It is time to make a choice: Cling to the safety of her old life, or embrace a powerful new destiny?
So...I'm cheating again this week >.<  See, despite having added Seraphina to my TBR shelf before it even came out - and - the fact that I've owned a copy and have for the past few years... I still haven't actually read it. *cringe* I know, I know...it's awful!  But, I vow that my everlasting shame will soon be over.  Yes, you have my word that I will read Seraphina before Shadow Scale comes out.  I mean, Shadow Scale comes out on.my.birthday. so, I'm taking that as a sign.  That fact, combined with all the wonderful things I've heard about the first book makes me pretty sure this will be a series I'll fall completely in love with.

Have you read and loved Seraphina?
Let me know when you link me up :)

  2. I remember that I really liked Seraphina, but I can't remember everything that happened in it. I think I will wait for this whole series to be out and buy the whole set and read them in a row :)

  5. lol, I have so many books that I've purchased but haven't read, and I still wind up wanting any sequels that follow them. Don't worry, it's totally normal bibliophile behavior! And as someone who HAS read Seraphina, it's definitely a good pick! I'm really excited to see what happens next. Good luck on your TBR pile!
