Harry Potter MotW #63

Harry Potter Moment of the Week

Harry Potter Moment of the week is a weekly meme hosted over at Uncorked Thoughts. The idea is to share one favorite moment, magical item, character, spell, quote, object from the books, films or J.K.Rowling herself!    For information on how to join up & for upcoming topics, click here.

Where would you live as a Wizard?

If I woke up tomorrow and had magic, I would want to live smack dab in the middle of a magical community. No trying to blend in with the Muggles for this Witch, I've been doing that for long enough as it is!  Now sure, I could see myself living in any number of magical wizard dwellings: Godric's Hollow for one. Imagine living where BOTH Harry Potter and Albus Dumbledore were born!? Wow!! And then of course there's Diagon Alley.  I know it's mostly a shopping area but I'm pretty sure I'd feel right at home there!  All things considered though, there's still one place my heart belongs to above all others...

Hogsmeade

Hogsmeade Village, or simply called Hogsmeade is the only all-wizarding village in Britain. It was founded by Hengist of Woodcroft. Students may sometimes come on weekend trips, but only third year students and above with guardian permission are allowed to visit[1]. Mainly, students frequent the High Street in the village which contains the named specialty shops and pubs such as Zonko's Joke Shop and Honeydukes. Otherwise, they wander on to observe the infamous Shrieking Shack.
Hogsmeade is a picturesque little village of cottages and shops, with enchanted candles hanging in the trees during the holidays. It is also near the location of the train station used by the Hogwarts Express.-Source
Living so close to Hogwarts sounds like perfection to me. Imagine the view (whatever the season) ♥

  1. Hogsmeade didn't even cross my mind when I was making my post, I feel ashamed because it would be a really amazing place to live!!

This was a really hard question for me to answer because if I turned into a witch today I would love to live among my fellow wizards, but I don't know if I would be able to leave my family, friends, and the life I've made in the muggle world. It was just so difficult to chose!

    Here's my post:

  3. Hogsmeade is a great pick! It's among my top wizard dwellings :D I wouldn't care for bleinding in either, prefer to not watch my every single step!

  4. I'd totally live in a magical community, too, and Hogsmeade would be perfect! I wonder if Honeydukes would offer a discount to its frequent customers because I'd be in there ALL the time! :D

  5. Hogsmeade is one of my choices too! I think a few of us choose this cosy little town. It's so beautiful. Maybe we'd be neighbors :)

  6. Yeah, I'd want to live with other magical people too, and Hogsmeade is definitely one of the ultimate places for that. Plus, they make it look absolutely idyllic and beautiful. I seriously considered Godric's Hollow too. Ultimately, though, I think I'm a city girl. Here's my HP MOTW!

  7. I just love those gifs! So beautiful. I agree wholeheartedly with Hogsmeade. It would be amazing to have Hogwarts as a backdrop in your view everyday and being surrounded by all that magic especially during the holidays would be fantastic. Excellent choice :D Jaclyn @ JC's Book Haven.

  8. Tough decision, for sure. But I'd go with Hogsmeade as well (even though I would gladly settle for Diagon Alley or Godric's Hollow). I do hope I get to visit the Hogsmeade in the theme park someday!
