20 Things You Might Not Know About Me

I was tagged by the lovely Alise over at Readers in Wonderland to do the 20 things you might not know about me tag.  Thanks girl! xx  Here we go:

Question 1: How tall are you?

I'm actually quite short at 5'4'' - my mom is the only person in the world who thinks I'm tall (she's 5'0'' lol)

Question 2: Do you have a hidden talent? If so, what?

Hmmm, not really.  I do kind of have a crazy good memory though - I wouldn't quite call it eidetic like Sheldon Cooper (Big Bang Theory) but I just remember lots of details about a lot of stuff, even from my early childhood My family and friends are always blown away by how easily I remember song lyrics, not to mention lines from my favorite television shows and movies.

...not quite but hey, who am I to pass up using this gif?! ^^

Question 3: What's your biggest blog related pet-peeve?

Overloaded blogs that take forever to load and make my browser crash. Gah!

Question 4: What's your biggest non-blog related pet-peeve?

Bad drivers. Man they can get me going like not much else.  That and small talk. I'm not a huge fan of inane chit-chat and of course, working with the public, you tend to get that a lot o.O

Question 5: What's your favorite song?

Starlight by Muse ♥

Question 6: What's your favorite Etsy shop that isn't yours?

As much as I wish I could buy ALL THE THINGS on Etsy, I usually avoid it because I'm poor. Any one that sells HP, DW or any other fandom things could easily ruin me.

Question 7: What's your favorite way to spend your free time when you're alone?

Reading, of course, blogging, wasting my life away on Pinterest, catching up on my shows or just chilling outside.

Question 8: What's your favorite junk food?

Cake. Specifically Cheesecake. That and butterscotch/caramel anything. *drools*

Question 9: Do you have a pet or pets? If so, what kind and what are their names?

I have 2 cats, a black one called Nox (get it?) and a tabby one called Jazz.

Question 10: What are your favorite fiction and nonfiction books?

Non-fiction? What is non-fiction? Just kidding, uhm I guess The Second Sex and Understanding Prejudice and Discrimination (Uni textbooks that really stayed with me)

Fiction: Harry Potter, Throne of Glass and ALL the Sanderson books! (especially Mistborn and Way of Kings)

Question 11: What's your favorite beauty product?

Bronzer. This pale girl needs all the help she can get! That and concealer.

Question 12:  When were you last embarrassed? What happened?

Oh wow, I can't think of anything recent, which is weird cause I tend to embarrass easily. Uhm...

Hmm...
...sorry, I've got nothing. >.<

Question 13: If you could only drink one beverage (besides water) for the rest of your life, what would it be?

Tea. Hands down. I regularly drink breakfast (a.k.a. black) tea and peppermint tea but I enjoy almost any kind.

Question 14: What's your favorite movie?

Gladiator, The Prestige, The Count of Monte Cristo, The Dark Knight Trilogy, A Good Year..to name a few ;-)

Question 15: What were you in highschool: prom queen, nerd, cheerleader, jock, valedictorian, band geek, loner, artist, prep?

High school was a weird time for me, as wasn't as comfortable with my inner-nerdiness as I am now and was before that...but out of all the choices here, it's still the one that best describes me...

Ha!

Question 16: If you could live anywhere in the world, where would you live?

Provence France, London or Scotland. Just thinking about those places makes me swoon.

Question 17: PC or Mac?

I've only ever had PCs but I've always dreamed of having a Mac. And I will. One day...

Question 18: Last romantic gesture from a crush, date, boy/girlfriend, spouse?

Well recently, I got home from work late one day and the bf had cooked a wonderful feast of seafood, veggies and home-made cheesecake ♥  That and he buys me books, so I guess I'll keep him :D

Question 19: Favorite celebrity?

David Tennant. Hands down.

Question 20: What blogger do you secretly wish you were best friends with?

If we chat regularily online, and have gushed over some same books (or fandoms), chances are, I wish we were bff's in real life! xD

Now is the time where I would tag other bloggers to do the tag, and as much as I wish you all would participate, I know some of you don't especially like the 'forced' tag so I'll just say anyone who would like to participate is more than welcome to! I'd love to read your answers :)
And if you've already done this one - link me up!

  2. Overloaded blogs are horrible. I try to avoid that by going into every computer in my house and trying my blog link. I tend to avoid blogs that are really stuffy and just cluttered. Nice post :D

    1. Agreed! When I started out blogging, there was this really nice blogger who would visit and every time I tried to return the visit, her blog was so cluttered it made my browser freeze and then crash. After like 5 times I gave up going back >.< Thanks for stopping by Alex!!

  3. Fun! And I love looking for gifs. I often can end up spending too much time looking for them and almost not get my blog posts done in the time I have sometimes. Great post!

  4. Omg! I waste my life away on Pinterest as well! It's just so addictive. I also feel like I should be getting onto some Sanderson (because I really, really feel like I'm missing out on something amazing here).

  5. I LOVE all of the Tennant love in this post! ❤ I have always loved him in those glasses; these GIFS have just made my day! I'm 5'0" myself, so now there's another person in the world who thinks you're tall! XD Thanks to Outlander (and David Tennant), Scotland has become a must-visit for me one day, along with London. We have sooo much in common, but then I'm pretty sure you knew that already. :D

  8. YEAY, another tag I can do.

Having a good memory is great. Haha, Etsy is a dangerous place. I think if I get started buying things there, I'm unstoppable :') I love a good bronzer :D

    1. WooHoo, you were one of the ones I would have tagged too Mel ^^ Etsy IS a dangerous place. Every single time I visit, I want to buy ALL THE THINGS. And year, bronzer is a life saver when you're a pale chick, especially in those looong Winter months o.O haha

  9. LOVED this post Micheline! It was really fun getting to know you a bit better. A HUGE yes to cheesecake. Maybe next year at BEA we can find some and eat it in line together ;-) And I'm with you on small talk. I'm just bad at it and I hate doing it even though it's necessary to do to keep me from being overly socially awkward. I still am though ;-)

    1. Awww thanks so much Jenny :D Oh that sounds like a fabulous plan: cheesecake at BEA!! I'm really bad at small talk too, ESPECIALLY with people I don't know or have little in common with. Sometimes you must though but believe me, I'm socially awkward right along with you ;-)

  10. Had fun reading this, Micheline! I love the "open" tag - I tend to not like getting awards and things because it makes me feel pressured to do it (and within a specific amount of time), but sometimes these are fun to read - I just might do this one (or your seven deadly sins one - I liked that one a lot too!).

    1. Thanks Nicole! Yeah I don't mind the tags - if I can do 'em, I do, if not, I don't - but I know some bloggers feel an obligation so I figured leaving it open was best :) I definitely love reading these myself though! Thanks for stopping by!

  11. Yay! Thanks for doing it! :D (Sorry it took so late to visit!)That first gif about height is perfect, although for some reason I imagined you being pretty all, aha. I wish I had a good memory like that, I bet it worked out well in school! I can complain about bad drivers all day long. And small talk, blah. "Hey, how are you? Good, how are you?" Ugh, it's like a script. Every. Day. You're pasty too? I'm not alone? :'D Concealer and makeup is a must for us, for sure. The hard part is finding shades pale enough *sobs*

    1. Of course Alise - and no worries :) hahaha see, it's IMPOSSIBLE to tell with online friends! Yeah I think most of my good grades in school could be chalked up to my memory...although sometimes it did fail me horribly D: And I could totally rant about bad drivers ALL THE TIME. Small talk is totally just like a script and no one really cares anyway. Ugh! Yayyyy, team pasty (not really though haha) *sobs* but yeah concealer is my best friend and without bronzer, I'd look like a zombie o.O

  12. Awww, we already are friends, none of this "real life required" nonsense ;-). Funny story though: I just made an Etsy account yesterday and had previously never been on it! I'm so far only buying crochet supplies from it though, haha.

Also I'm dieting currently so omg cheesecake *gobbles it all* ahem >.> *hides*

    1. Awwww YAY - totally true for us though since we HAVE met in real life now ;-D Ooooh Etsy, I hope you are able to resist the temptations and stick to crochet stuff haha xD And we totally should have gone out for cheesecake at NYC!! Next time ;-)

  13. Oh I forgot! I totally thought you were much taller until we met at BEA and you and Giselle were both so adorable ;-) I felt kind of like a giant :-P

  14. Thrilled to see a more personal post from you, Micheline!! Love learning more about you and I can see that we have lots in common. I also have one of those memories like what you speak of, am 5'4" (which is so NOT short - it's the average height for women!), hating small talk, embarrassing easily, and cheesecake YUM!! And yes, you definitely have a keeper bf!

    1. Thanks Aylee! LOL ok, ok: NOT short. Average -_- And YAY for being memory AND book twins haha! If ever we meet in real life, we'll have to skip the small talk and go straight for the cheesecake xD
