Harry Potter MotW #46

Harry Potter Moment of the Week

Harry Potter Moment of the Week is a meme hosted over at Uncorked Thoughts. The idea is to share a favorite moment, magical item, character, spell, quote, object from the books, films or J.K.Rowling herself! Upcoming topics & how to join here.

Characters I Wish We'd Learnt More About

Oh wow, this is a great question...with oh-so-many possible answers, I'll never be able to narrow it down >.<  In my typical Harry Potter fangirl fashion, I wish we'd learnt more about Dumbledore of course.  The man played a HUGE role in the story but I feel like we only learned about him personally at the end there...and much of it was lies perpetrated by the evil Rita Skeeter.

I also wish we'd learnt more about The Three Peverell brothers because I loved learning about their adventure with death and how they got the Hallows.

Olivander is another one I've always been curious about, especially his job which I think would be my job if I lived in the magical world hihi.  I'm fascinated by wandmaking - the woods, the cores and how they all combine so learning more about how Olivander got into that job would have been excellent - to me at least XD

And finally, I wish we'd learnt more about Ginny Weasley.  I'm a HUGE Ginny lover and even though we do get to know her loads more in the books, I could have done with even MORE!  I loved her bravery, her fierceness and of course I could totally relate to her love of Harry hehe

  1. I'm not such a fan of Ginny, to be honest. I'd love to know more about Dumbledore. It would be awesome if Rowling wrote a story about him! How cool would it be to learn more about his past and how he grew up to be the man he was?

  2. All great picks! I think the Skeeter book was good to put Dumbledore on solid ground again, and even if she lied, she also probably included lies, which leveled me as well to a point.
I'd love the be a wandmaker too! Sounds really fascinating, and EVERYONE needs a wand so... :D
And Ginny is really awesome, I wish I knew more about her as well.

  3. I am STILL holding out hope that she will publish the encyclopaedia with every possible tidbit of information about the characters that we didn't get to read about in the books. You KNOW she has pages and pages of info on each character, and while I like that Pottermore gives you snippets of info for free, I want a friggin textbook!! haha it would not at all be boring to me, as I know you can relate. Hopefully it'll happen!

  4. I agree with Mel - I loved Ginny in the early books but then I liked her less.
Love this meme -- so fun :)

  5. Yes, yes, and yes. I've always wondered about these characters and wanted to know their backstories. I feel like The Three Peverell brothers' history would make for an awesome story. And who wouldn't want to know more about Dumbledore? He's such an interesting character.
