Waiting on Wednesday *70*

Waiting on Wednesday

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by  Breaking the Spine which spotlights upcoming book releases that we're especially looking forward to!

Here's my pick this week:

The Fire Wish by Amber Lough
The Fire Wish #1
Expected Publication: July 22nd 2014 by Random House

A jinni. A princess. And the wish that changes everything. . . .

Najwa is a jinni, training to be a spy in the war against the humans. Zayele is a human on her way to marry a prince of Baghdad—which she’ll do anything to avoid. So she captures Najwa and makes a wish. With a rush of smoke and fire, they fall apart and re-form—as each other. A jinni and a human, trading lives. Both girls must play their parts among enemies who would kill them if the deception were ever discovered—enemies including the young men Najwa and Zayele are just discovering they might love.
I haven't read a story about trading places in a loooong time and The Fire Wish sounds like the perfect cure for that.  I love the exotic setting and the combination of princes, princesses and a jinni.  There does seem to be a romantic element to this but I think if it's done well, it could be quite entertaining - even funny at times.  I feel sure our dual MC's will get into all kinds of exciting adventures along the I'm really wishing to get ahold of this one soon :)

Thoughts? Let me know when you link me up below!

  1. This is the first time I've heard of this book - going on my TBR! After reading Hand of Miriam by Eva Gordon, I'm dying to read another book with an exotic setting! And making sure they play their parts so their deception isn't discovered? I'm nervous for these girls already, lol. Fantastic pick, Micheline! :)

  2. Yey, I'm really excited for this one too! I'm hoping the setting is done well, since I'm just in the mood for something a little different ;-)

  3. The last book I read that was about a Jinni was AMAZING! (The Golem and the Jinni) So I can't wait to see what this is all about! It sounds enchanting!!
    Thanks for sharing Micheline :)

  4. Ooooh, this sounds fantastic! I haven't read a book about a Jinni (that I can think of!) so I'll definitely be keeping an eye out for this one. Thanks for the introduction!

  5. This sounds like it could be really good! I love the idea of the story and I hope it's good :)

I LOVE comments & do my best to return every one a.s.a.p. ♥
This blog is an award-free zone. I appreciate the thought but I can't invest the time needed.
