Waiting on Wednesday *25*

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly feature hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine where book bloggers get together & each spotlight an upcoming release we're especially excited about!

Here's my pick this week:

Invisibility

Release Date: May 7th 2013

Authors: Andrea Cremer & David Levithan

Stephen has been invisible for practically his whole life — because of a curse his grandfather, a powerful cursecaster, bestowed on Stephen’s mother before Stephen was born. So when Elizabeth moves to Stephen’s NYC apartment building from Minnesota, no one is more surprised than he is that she can see him. A budding romance ensues, and when Stephen confides in Elizabeth about his predicament, the two of them decide to dive headfirst into the secret world of cursecasters and spellseekers to figure out a way to break the curse. But things don’t go as planned, especially when Stephen’s grandfather arrives in town, taking his anger out on everyone he sees. In the end, Elizabeth and Stephen must decide how big of a sacrifice they’re willing to make for Stephen to become visible — because the answer could mean the difference between life and death. At least for Elizabeth.
I just love the sound of this one guys!!  Thinking about poor Stephen being completely invisible since birth makes me sad but also really curious.  And even though it sounds a bit cliché, I love the fact that only that one girl can see him!  I'm already eager for the scene where it'll all go down XD Obviously, the world of cursecasters & spellseekers sounds right up my alley. I'm really digging that it's a male MC (I think?!). It's also kind of a neat twist that Stephen's grandfather sounds like this all-evil cursecaster. Yikes! Anyways, I haven't read anything by Andrea Cremer or David Levithan but I've heard good things, so yeah...this is my pick.

What do you guys think?  And what are you waiting on?

  11. I'm so curious about this one because I love the concept so much! It kind of sounds like David Levithan and Andrea Cremer will each be writing a character and trading off from chapter to chapter. I'm curious about this mix because the authors don't strike me as being particularly related to one another. So it should be interesting!

    1. Oh that's different - trading off chapter to chapter!! That sounds like it could be hit or miss but with all the good things I've heard about the authors, I'm hoping for a hit :)

  12. I've also seen this one around a bit and on the one hand it sounds really cool but on the other I think it'd depend on how it's done... I'm intrigued by the idea of it being Stephen's grandfather who did this to him! And the world building, of course ;)
I've also never read anything by Levithan or Cremer - embarrassing, I know! They're so popular aren't they? I feel like Levithan in particular has a book coming out every 3 months or so!
Thanks for stopping by yesterday, hun :) Happy easter!
