Stacking the Shelves (14)

Stacking the Shelves is a weekly feature hosted by Tynga's Reviews showcasing new books we've either received or bought this past week.

This is part 2 of my Holiday Aftershock Edition and this week I made use of my mom's generous Chapters Gift Card...and I still have quite a bit on there for upcoming book-sprees!!  But first things first: A few weeks ago Stephanie over at Bookfever messaged me with a very special Holiday Treat: I won her One Year Blogoversary Giveaway & I could pick a book amongst her favorite 2012 reads!!!  I'd never ever won a giveaway before so I was beyond thrilled...so you can imagine my delight when this beauty arrived at my doorstep:

*drools*
I have been longing for this one since it's release - in fact, it was going to be one of my first buys for the new year.  Thanks for much Stephanie for the prize, for offering a giveaway AND for loving this one so I could chose it :)
Now, on to my purchases:

&

I didn't have much time at the bookstore, so I headed straight for the bargain section where I found books 1 & 5 (random right?) on for $6.99.  The VA Series was a high priority 2013 read so there was no way I was passing up those deals....especially hardback editions!!  Even if I have to pay full for books 2-4, it's still worth it!  And on my way out I saw Spider's Bite promoted on kobo for $3.99 so I hurried home & got it since the Elemental Assassin Series was another series I really wanted to get into.

All things considered I think I did pretty well and my gift card hardly has a dent in it.  Next week will definitely have more new goodies in store ;)

What did you get your hands on this week??

  15. I really hope you like VA. I think I am one of the only ones who hasn't read it. I tried... three times. I just had a hard time getting into the first book, but have been told that if you give it time it does get really good. I'm just impatient and decided to read other things that were getting my attention. I want to read the Elemental Assassin series too. I have heard it's great! Awesome haul chick!!
