Here's what I'm waiting on this week:
The Cadet of Tildor
Release Date: January 10th 2013Author: Alex Lidell

There is a new king on the throne of Tildor. Currents of political unrest sweep the country as two warring crime families seek power, angling to exploit the young Crown's inexperience. At the Academy of Tildor, the training ground for elite soldiers, Cadet Renee de Winter struggles to keep up with her male peers. But when her mentor, a notorious commander recalled from active duty to teach at the Academy, is kidnapped to fight in illegal gladiator games, Renee and her best friend Alec find themselves thrust into a world rife with crime, sorting through a maze of political intrigue, and struggling to resolve what they want, what is legal, and what is right.
What can I say? I'm a sucker for medieval fantasies. Considering that most of the ones I've read have featured male protagonists, I'm doubly excited to read one featuring a female lead. I'm especially intrigued by how the 'thriller' feel will mesh with medieval fantasy aspect, I'm thinking if it's done well it could be explosive!
What are you waiting on this week?

ReplyDeleteConfession: the only reason I wasn't really excited was the cover, which I loathe.
However, one of my friends is reading this and she said it's really, really good so far and not to judge it off the cover, so now I WANTS.

I'm adding it to my list :) I hope you'll enjoy it when it comes along! I think I've even seen it on NetGalley...
