Waiting on Wednesday (9)

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly feature hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine where book bloggers get together and spotlight what upcoming release we're most excited about!

Here's what I'm waiting on this week:

Falling Kingdoms

Release Date: December 11th 2012
Authors:  Morgan Rhodes  & Michelle Rowen

In a land where magic has been forgotten but peace has reigned for centuries, a deadly unrest is simmering. Three kingdoms grapple for power—brutally transforming their subjects’ lives in the process. Amidst betrayals, bargains, and battles, four young people find their fates forever intertwined:
-Cleo: A princess raised in luxury must embark on a rough and treacherous journey into enemy territory in search of a magic long thought extinct.

-Jonas: Enraged at injustice, a rebel lashes out against the forces of oppression that have kept his country impoverished—and finds himself the leader of a people’s revolution centuries in the making.

Lucia: A girl adopted at birth into a royal family discovers the truth about her past—and the supernatural legacy she is destined to wield.

-Magnus: Bred for aggression and trained to conquer, a firstborn son begins to realize that the heart can be more lethal than the sword...
The only outcome that’s certain is that kingdoms will fall. Who will emerge triumphant when all they know has collapsed?

This to me sounds kind of like a YA hybrid of a Lord of the Rings and A Song of Fire & Ice with a healthy mix of paranormal elements.  What more could a girl want?  The synopsis seems to point at multiple POVs though and I'm not a huge fan of anything over 2 POVs - I find it can get confusing but from the reviews I've read it doesn't seem to be the case!  The cover itself is just breathtaking & kick-ass all at once :D  so yeah, can't wait to check this one out!

    1. If the multiple POV's is done well then I won't mind...but when it's not done well I find it can get overwhelming. Thanks for stopping by Jenni ♥

  3. Though I am not big on high fantasy books, this sounds really awesome. I have found that even though I don't tend to read them, when I do I really enjoy them. I love multi-POV's if they are in first person, but I really need to connect with the characters. I think that if done well it helps get a better overall feel of the story.

  7. YES!! I WANT THIS BOOK!!!!!! There isn't enough 'proper' YA fantasy novels--set in a completely different world--out there in my opinion. I can't wait for this to be released.
