Stacking the Shelves (6)

Stacking the Shelves is a weekly feature hosted by Tynga's Reviews showcasing new books we've either received or bought this past week.

This was another sweet week for me, I love Halloween as a general rule so the week of, I'm usually in pretty good spirits.  Book-wise though, this week would have brought a smile to my face even in the worst of times :D

Alright, so I'll start with what was waiting for me in my mailbox this week:

&

-I've been unnaturally attracted to Eon since I first read about it.  Like even before ALL my Goodreads friends wrote glowing reviews about it.  Each on of these reviews confirming that Eon appears to be exactly what I'd hoped for!  A girl gifted a Dragon Magic in a world where girls are forbidden to use Dragon Magic.  So she hides in plain site as a boy and learns Dragon Magic anyways.  I love her already ♥

-I'm not even going to gush on how happy I am to finally have Obsidian in my greedy little hands.  It's here. It's in my house. Gah!

- Angelfall and Unearthly are two angel books, and this may seem like I'm some kind of angel-freak (o.O) but I'm not.  I've read only a few angel books to date...I tend to shy away from them because I feel like it's a concept that can easily go awry.  But honestly, I've read too many good things about both to pass them up any longer.  I think they're sufficiently different thematically so that I won't get bored; Angelfall is more on the creepy side from what I've read and is categorized as a dystopian, while Unearthly seems a bit more fantastical and romantic!

I also got a two more pretties from Netgalley this week:

Entangled is about witches...and that's pretty much all I need to know to want to read it. It also has a bit of a paranormal twist so I'm thinking it'll be good.  What a pretty Wintery cover as well!  And while I wasn't really attracted to Surrender when I first started seeing it around, when I read that the elvish chick on the cover is one of the 9 apocalyptic weapons...well I thought it was worth checking out.

That's it for me this week! What did you guys get a hold of this week? Link me up below!
Let me know if you're a new follower as well :)

  1. You received books that I haven't read yet but have been wanting to sometime in the near future. I also tend to shy away from angel books because most tend to strike out with me. I may have to check out Eon now that I've heard you gush about it. And I love the cover for Entangled. Great haul this week!

I don't have a book haul this week, but I do have a giveaway if you want to check it out.

    1. Thanks for stopping by Manda-Rae! I'm glad I'm not the only one who tends to avoid angel books. Hopefully Unearthly and/or Angelfall will prove me wrong haha! I hope you will check out Eon as well :) I'm off to check out your giveaway.

  4. Eon IS good. I also just bought Obsidian, but haven't read it yet. Same with Angelfall. Unearthly is pretty good, I'll admit, and I'm not an angel fan either.

  5. Doesn't Eon sound awesome?? It's super long so I am honestly a little intimidated, but I am hoping to read it soon! Unfortunately I wasn't crazy about Obsidian. There was too much of that "hot guy being a complete jerk" stuff. But I seem to be in the minority so I hope you love it!
