Stacking the Shelves (4)

Stacking the Shelves is a weekly MEME hosted by Tynga's Reviews featuring new books we've either received or bought this past week.

This week, I was lucky enough to be able to pick up 2 books I've been very eager to read & 1 e-book I'm super curious about that was impossible to pass up ;)

&

I've been oh-so-anxious to read The Girl Who Circumnavigated Fairyland in a Ship of her own making ever since I heard about it earlier this year.  So about a month ago when I discovered that Catherynne M. Valente was releasing a 2nd book in this series (which is out since October 2nd!) I had to rush out and get the first one!  I mean fairyland!?  Girls taking charge and building their own ships!?  And look at the cover with that gorgeous artwork; I love the dragon ♥ *squee*

As for Leviathan, well what can I say?  I love steampunk and I don't read nearly enough of the genre.  A few trusted Goodreads friends absolutely LOVE this series so I'm pretty psyched to see what the fuss is about.  And this alternate history style adventure seems pretty exciting and original!

I also got a steal-of-a-deal- ebook for my kindle this week:

Ahhh wolves, magic and romance.  Sounds delightful! There's some pretty good buzz about this one as well and I'm anxious to read a werewolf story from a female POV.  The synopsis boasts this is a
YA Paranormal Romance recommended for ages 16 and up. So I'm thinking it might even be steamy!  Woot :D

What books did YOU get this week?  Link me up bellow & don't forget to let me know if you're a new follower so I can return the favor :)

  1. When I saw "Leviathan" it reminded me of a book I read recently because it mentioned Leviathan quite a bit... (Katya’s World by Jonathan L. Howard). It sounds interesting. I'll have to come back to check out what you think of it. Thanks for stopping by Tynga's Reviews.

  11. Oh, I KNOW, doesn't The Girl Who Circumnavigated Fairyland sound AMAZING!! GAH, that cover, title, and premise! But ah yeah, I actually haven't read the series either. Ditto for Leviathan: I always hear amazingly great things, but I haven't actually found the time to get to it yet (but I KNOW I will love it when I do!).

  16. I am always tempted to pick up Leviathan when I see it on the sales table at Chapters but I am always intimidated when I open a book and see a map! Gotta love cheap ebooks! I am always on the hunt for them too!

    ReplyDelete

    1. Cheap books are totally my undoing >.< lol And I usually just skim the maps, often they don't really come into play that much, but I'll admit I get intimidated when you have to keep referencing back to the map....yikes! I'm hoping it won't be the case with Leviathan *crosses fingers*

      Thanks for stopping by Jenni!!
